About Me

I am a qualified and experienced early years professional, with over 25 years in the early years workforce. I’ve been childminding for 10 years and I love my job; there are never two days the same.
I am a mother to four grown up children, when they were younger I used a variety of childcare providers therefore I know how important it is to get the right setting and the right childminder for you and your child. This is why (after taking voluntary redundancy from teaching in 2014) I decided to continue my early years practice and set up Little Wellies Childcare.
I believe my home from home setting provides a secure, nurturing and fun environment for every child, meeting their individual care and learning needs, and working in a supportive partnership with parents/carers.
Why choose a childminder? -Childminder’s provides a smaller ratio of children, which allows children to receive more quality 1:1 time and smaller group activities in a calm, relaxed and homely environment.
-Continuity of care with less staff changes and transitions than a nursery environment.

- A cosier, homely set up allows children of different ages to blend together; offering richer learning experiences and establishing those key early friendships.
-Siblings cared for together in one setting, with school drop off and pick up for the older sibling(s).
- Early years curriculum delivered just like a nursery, but with more learning from trips out and the wider community.
At Little Wellies, we enjoy: painting, singing, dancing, cooking, sharing books, crafting, garden play, and small world toys. We also like to get out and about, exploring the world around us.
We like to visit soft play, music sessions and toddler groups weekly. We go on regular trips and outings to the local parks, playgrounds, Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and the farm. We love rainy day walks and puddle splashing (water proofs and wellies are a must). Little Wellies are busy learning everyday.

I strongly believe that all children need to be valued and respected for their individuality, efforts, opinion and feelings. I aim to create an environment that nurtures every child by supporting and challenging their learning, development and wellbeing.
Children in my care will feel safe and secure, be listened to and become confident learners.
Children develop holistically therefore every child's needs must be at the centre. I firmly believe a child's emotional and social development is key to all areas of learning and my setting helps to support this.
A child with a positive early years experience will secure strong foundations and be more likely to progress and achieve.

I am passionate about play, ‘play is a child's work’, it’s how children learn. I facilitate child centred activities, experiences and opportunities that are fun and engaging. Your child will be free to create, explore and discover, building on what they already know and acquiring new skills. All activities will meet the development and learning requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I aim for your child to thrive, be curious, be safe, and most of all to have fun!
