About Me
Hi, I am a qualified childminder working together with qualified assistants full time in central Bexleyheath. I have been Ofsted inspected and received an overall GOOD.
We are a very warm, friendly and welcoming setting for all parents and children.
I have 29 years experience of working with children of all ages. I am registered with Ofsted and and pacey. Food hygiene qualifications (which our setting received the highest possible grade), paediatric 1st aid qualified (for myself and staff), and all staff each has a DBS, I also keep up through regular courses for advanced in safeguarding for children.
Together we provide a safe learning environment for children of all ages and abilities.
We have excellent facilities with a separate large classroom, which offers a wide range of EYFS approved learning resources, children's own pegs with their photo on and their own trays for learning, next steps and also for their personal belongings. large living area, garden with many toys and learning resources.
We follow the EYFS as our curriculum and their learning requirements and expectations. We use a wonderful on line programme called baby days, you receive regular updates on your Childs development and often receive video clips and lots of photos of your child.
We also offer a school holiday scheme for every school holiday which you can book your child in up to a week before!
We charge £65 a day.
We currently have spaces available for children aged 0 - 5 years

My Daughter has been attending Nellys since she was 1 and half years old, from taking her out of a setting that was very unreliable and very stressful for me I found Nellys, and well what can i say, i am so so happy and content with the service that Karen and her dedicated staff provide for myself and my daughter every day. My daughter is so happy and excited to go every morning its all that she talks about to me before nursery and after nursey, the setting is for sure a home from home environment and Karen and all her staff provide care that is as good as a mothering role. I can now go to work without worrying constantly about my child and my job which is invaluable. Peace of Mind!!!!!!!! couldn't be happier.

Both my boys currently attend Nellys and I can not fault the setting, staff and care given.
My boys come out each day smiling away. Regular updates and photos are always re-assuring.
The staff are all super friendly and approachable. Nothing is ever hard work with them. I couldn’t recommend Nellys more!

My little boy started at Nelly’s when he was 18 months old; the team honestly treat him as one of their own! He has a personable relationship with each member of the team and in turn, they also have their own relationship with him and know his likes/ dislikes, best ways to communicate with him etc. I love the approach they have to education and learning through play/ practical life skills! My boy amazes me each week when he comes home and has learnt something new!
I would recommend Nelly’s to anyone know is looking for a nurturing, fun, and supportive environment for their little one!

Nellie has been with Karen and the lovely ladies for just a year and I can only applaud for there hard work and effort they put in with all the children in attendance.
My little girl has even started to eat meat which before I have struggled with since weaning, the variety of foods that are given as evening meal.
I cannot fault this setting, my little Nellie has thrived in everyway. I just love how happy she is here and highly recommend any parents/children looking to view/start with Nellys.

My little boy really enjoys going to Nelly's little elephants. He started when he was 1 and has been there for over a year. He has loved going since the start and is always happy.
Karen, Zoe and all the ladies are lovely and I know they love all of the children they look after.
They do lots of different activities and also get to play outside lots.
I always know my baby is happy and looked after there 🥰

My little boy has been at nelly’s for 3 years, his baby sister has also started there this year!
Over the years Karen & her team have grown into more then just our childminders. They are second parents!
My little boy has struggled with his speech, which is why I kept him with Karen instead of sending him to a school nursery this past year. Karen has fought for us through the local authority to get speech therapy! She does 1:1 sessions with him and has really gone above & beyond to support him and me!
Karen provides me with regular updates on his development and advice on what I need to be doing to help. All Karen’s & her teams hard work is paying off and my little boys speech has not only just improved but his behaviour too since he struggled with his communication.
I honestly can say I do not know more caring, kind and loving people. They are there to give second mummy cuddles when my babies are feeling sad, celebrate their achievements and mould them into fun little people!
Lastly Karen’s home and setting is perfect, she provides a home from home feeling with a separate classroom in her garden. Her garden is full of fun educational experiences for our little ones to explore and learn! Know your children will be happy, loved & safe if you choose Nellys!
I just want to say the biggest thank you, to Karen, Zoe, Claire & Kerry for everything they do for my little monsters!

Our little boy has been going to Nellys since he was 1. He’s 20 months now. From the moment we met Karen we knew this was setting we wanted him to attend. He has a wonderful relationship with Karen, his keyworker Zoe and the rest of the children.
Our boy has developed a true interest in animals and I put this down to Karen’s two dogs and rabbit. Our son is thriving at Nellys and she makes every effort to ensure she communicates with parents about how our child is developing.

My son has been going here since he was a baby & he is now 3! He loves everyone at nellys elephants! Karen & her team are amazing! Feels like a little family! My son learns so much from karen & her team. My son is always asking when he has nursery. Highly reccomend karen & her team 💖

My husband and I, visited a number of nurseries in the area and in my opinion most of the nurseries are not on the same level as Nellys little elephant childminder.
From the moment we stepped into Nellys little elephant’s (Karens home) we knew right away that this was the place for our dd. We had 4 main points we looked for:
* Is the environment bright and colourful? – Yes! Nelly’s was very colourful and bright, which gave a happy, warm and safe atmosphere.
* Are the staff friendly? - Yes, there is always a friendly face to open the door. The staff are very caring, which gave me the peace of mind I needed to feel comfortable with sending my dd to Nelly’s every single day with little to no worries.
* Is there a wide range of activities for the kids? – Yes, absolutely (arts and craft, singing, counting, learning about garden creatures etc.- the list goes on). If you are looking for childcare that will stimulate you little one then this is the place for you.
* Outdoor activities? – Yes! Karen has got a lovely size garden space for the kids, with a variety of activities for them to do, in addition to this, they also have regular visits to the local play group amongst other things.
I should also add that since my dd has been at Nelly’s I have had regular updates on her daily activities, pictures included.
In a nut shell if you are looking for peace of mind with your childcare… then you will definitely get it here.

My two sons have been going to Nellys for nearly 2 years now. After viewing numerous childminders, I was instantly put at ease when I walked into nellys, and knew this was the place to leave my children.
At the beginning my youngest suffered with severe separation from me and I left him crying every morning,which was heartbreaking, but with the support and love of Karen and her wonderful team, my son soon became comfortable and looked forward to going. All of the staff care and love the children like their own and I couldn’t ask for more for my precious boys.
Nellys has a great setting and provide a wide range of activities and I would totally recommend them. Both my boys love going to Nellys and have both come on leaps and bounds from being in the care of such kind and loving people.
