My Summary
About Me
I am a 56 year old woman who has lived and worked in London as a Nanny for over 20 years. I relocated to Plymouth 10 years ago to be nearer family.
I am looking for a family who needs a full or part time nanny or nanny share, would love there to be a baby about, but not essential (I'm just a sucker for babies!).
I am looking for a live out position, but would consider a post with separate accommodation provided. I would welcome families with pets of any description (except tarantulas !!) and would gladly help with their care too if required.
I am happy to cook for both the family and the freezer if needed, even the odd dinner party as before changing career to become a nanny I was a qualified chef (since leaving school). I tend to do quite a bit of catering bits and pieces at weekends, from dinner parties to birthday cakes, just to keep my hand in.
I am single, have a Miniature Dachshund/Chihuahua called Bam. I moved down South to be nearer to my Mum, sister and other members of the family who live in Plymouth and Yeovil. I used to live and work as a funtions manager/chef at the cathedral in Wells, so love this part of the world.
I sing, do arts and crafts including knitting, sewing and currently teaching myself to crochet, I love to do gardening, DIY, read a lot, enjoy cinema, theatre, and live music. I love animals and children and seem to have an affinity with both.
My Experience
I have been a nanny for 25 plus years, looking after children ranging from new born to 18 years.
I am very much in contact with the families I first worked for on moving to London, consider them now to be my friends as well as still occasional employers as I still baby sit for many of them and even go on the odd holiday with them to help with childcare.
I have dealt with bottle feeding, weaning, fussy eaters, food allergies, asthma, eczaema, potty training, bed wetting, temper tantrums, autistic spectrum, adhd and teenage angst, all dealt with calmly but firmly and pretty much 100% success from recollection.
I have helped with homework, teaching to read, teaching to draw, teaching to cook, teaching good manners and respect for others.
I am firm but fair, always ready to listen to any worries my wards might have. I believe in firm boundaries so a child knows where they are, but am open to compromise as a child grows up and is able to express their own views - however no still means no if I deem it neccessary !!
I am very proud of the children I have helped raise and still see them on a regular basis, even if I no longer work for their parents. I look at the tall, well mannered, even tempered, high achieving young people they have become and I am filled with pride and genuine affection.
I expect to be welcomed as part of the family, backing parents up in the raising of their children and offering help with any problems that arise(like tantrums, sleepless nights etc). I am happy to work sole charge or as a mothers help if mum works part time or has a busy house to run. I will do general nursery duties but I expect to be employed as a Nanny and not as a house keeper, I trained to look after children because that is what I am good at and enjoy, I did not train to clean the whole house or do the family ironing etc, that does not mean I will not help out wherever neccessary should the need arise however ! I feel it is important to focus on the children in my care and take my job very seriously offering a wide range of activities for a wide range of ages and abilities.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified Chef and am Ofsted Registered as a nanny, I have obtained a rolling full Enhanced CRB check which renews every year, First Aid certificate, Passed exams obtaining a diploma in core skills of childcare and hold certificates in safeguarding, Food Health and hygiene and I have recently completed a course on home schooling and am currently training online doing a course on becoming a teaching assistant.
I have a clean drivers license, have been driving since I was 17 years old and own my own car, although usually use my employers cars or have a car provided for use with the job.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Nannying from £12.00 per hour (gross)
I charge £10 - £15 an hour net, depending on the number of children & hours required, this would of course be negotiable as it would be if accommodation were provided with the post or as a nanny share position.
Any accommodation that came with the post would need to be separate from the main house and allow me to have my dog Bam - he is fully house trained, obedient, not to mention fabulous with children - and a chinchilla. Part or non furnished would be a bonus as I do have my own fuurniture etc. I am happy to look for my own accommodation nearby however.
My Documents
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination (added 16/02/2023)
- UK Driving Licence (added 16/02/2023)
