About Me
We are a very busy family with 3 children - we need help.
My Requirements
We are looking for a nanny/carer for James.
James is 17 years old: he is a very cheeky young man, a big flirt and has the biggest smile ever. He would love a playmate who can be as daft as him! He loves listening to, and making music, singing, messy play, painting, arts and crafts, shadow play and puppetry. Once you get to know him he is a fantastic young man who will give back just as much as you put in.
James is a very content young man, with a variety of complex needs (which can be daunting at first), however help is always on hand by James' mum. He is generally much easier to look after than most able bodied children despite the added necessity of medical equipment and intervention. Our previous nanny/carers have started with limited/zero medical experience but were great with children and prepared to learn about the medical side: we are always around to provide training and support. With patience, perseverance and a willingness to learn you will come to see our fantastic young man for who he is.
Our home has been fully adapted for James' needs as he is in a wheelchair, and includes a therapy pool, a light therapy room, a large garden, fully hoisted bathroom and bedroom facilities etc. We have full hoisting facilities and no heavy lifting is required.
Ella is a lively 16 year old girl who loves to sing, dance and chat. She loves her brother very much and so helps out, when she can, with his play and care.
Amelie is a very inquistative, 13 year old girl who enjoys animals and being outside. She gives the best cuddles and loves blowing bedtime kisses on her brother's cheek.
We would like cover for weekends (8am till 8pm) and after school (3pm till 8pm). We also need help during the school holidays - this could be extensive (50 plus hours). Obviously we are looking for more than one nanny/carer to share the shifts.
Carers need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle as we live in a very rural location with limited access to public transport. They must be confident in lone working, and have the imagination to provide stimulating play for all three children.
Depending on the shift/transport requirements we pay at least £13 per hour and we provide all necessary training for the right person.
