Helen started child-minding my son in November 2010 when he was 11 months old up until he was ready for school. During this period, I was amazed at how great Helen was with my son. She made sure she had one-to-one interaction with my son, which was very important to me. She paid attention to his development and was always on hand to answer any questions I had. She spent time to record in his ‘diary’ what he had eaten, where they went, how long his nap was and when he did new things or said new words. She also took pictures of him which she put in his diary. This really helped to learn more about how my son was spending his day. It also re-assured me that he was in very good care and enjoying himself. This I found was her unique style of child-minding, which I absolutely loved.
One very admirable characteristic of Helen’s is her gentle yet firm personality. She instills discipline in the children by teaching them to be polite, share and take turns with toys or books. My son benefited a lot from this as he always likes to take turns with other children. She helped him learn his ‘thank yous’ and ‘sorrys’. I also loved the fact that her family were equally fantastic with my son. They make that home atmosphere even more genuine as they always greet and smile.
She is reliable, trustworthy and passionate about what she does. She continues to be my son’s favourite child-minder as his face lights up each time her name is mentioned. She always helped arrange for an alternative carer if she was unable to work. This was very helpful as I did not have to worry.
I highly recommend Helen with no reservations. Excellent childminder.
Leaving your first child with a childminder can be a daunting experience. Not with Helen. She greets all children and parents with a smile, welcoming, clean and safe environment.
Helen approaches her role as a true professional. She has a lovely manner with the children and knows how to keep them stimulated to aid their development. This can range from arts and crafts to trips to Willows farm or Whipsnade Zoo.
My son is now at nursery in another town but we still meet regularly with Helen and the other childminders at various toddler groups or day trips out, as Ollie misses them and all his little friends.
I would not hesitate to recommend Helen
Helen was recommended to me by a friend, I was concerned that my twin girls (19 months) were too clingy and thought it would benefit us all if they had some time with a carer. It was the best decision I made.
Helen is always waiting with a smile when the girls arrived, she has so much energy and it was completely obvious from the minute I met her that her purpose in life was to care for children. The girls never wanted to leave and always cried when I turned up. Helen kept a diary so I could see what the girls did, ate, moods on the day (which was always very happy).
They were always out and about and seeing other childminder friends which certainly improved their social skills.
My job has finished and it was for this reason only that I had to stop the child care, though I will use Helen in future.
I would highly recommend Helen to care for your child in a stimulating, safe, fun and active environment.
