About Me
Hello my name is Lucy Ewings, I am 33 years old and currently live in Exeter. I own a car, have a full driving licence with insurance to cover use for my job. I am happy to commute further a field should it be required.
I am a fun loving, friendly and confident person. With a love for caring for children and I have worked in childcare now for 10 years. The last 7 years have been spent as a nanny and previous to that I worked in a nursery.
I have a passion for arts and crafts and love to come up with creative ways for children to learn through activities and artwork. I believe this is an excellent way to teach children and help them learn about anything from numbers and the alphabet to all manner of topics including countries and animals.
I have experience working alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan my activities based around the developmental stages, ensuring they are age appropriate and educational, whilst still remaining fun and interactive for the children.
I am able to complete assessments, development checks (2 Year old check) and Transition documents for pre-school/school if required. I am an Ofsted registered nanny and a qualified paediatric first aider.
My Experience
I am currently working with one family, the children are aged between 1-7 years old. My role is to provide the children with a high standard of care. I plan and carry out activities which are age appropriate, engage in developmental play and games which allow children to learn while having fun. I take the children on trips out, these include babygroups/playgroups, beaches, parks, farms, gardens, walks, libraries, museums and soft play areas. The day trips can be planned around a certain interest or topic or purely just to get out and enjoy the Devon countryside. I follow routines set out by the parent or carer. This also includes nap times, personal care, bath times if required, preparing and cooking healthy meals and assisting with household duties as and when needed.
I have previously worked in a day nursery, mainly based in the preschool with children aged 3-5 years, but also looking after children from ages 6months to 2 years. I worked there for 2 years.
I have previous experience working as a babysitter for over ten children. I began babysitting at the age of fourteen working with children aged between one and eleven years old. This included day time care during school holidays and regular work in the evenings and at weekends.
My family has a lot of young children and I regularly look after my families children. This includes me looking after my niece, nephews and my god-daughters. I am very capable of coming up with activities that are suitable and appropriate for all age ranges.
Previously I have worked as a support worker for adults with learning difficulties and the elderly. This has allowed me to prove I am a trustworthy and loyal person. Caring for all abilities in a friendly and professional manner.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified Early Years Educator with the following qualification, Level 3 Diploma in the Early Years Work Force. Ofsted Registered.
