About Me

We are a kiwi family who live in Northfields, near Elthorne Park. We have four young children aged 10, 8, 5 and a 3...oh and a small jack russell dog!

My Requirements

Part Time Nanny
Special Needs Experience
Mothers Help

We require a live-out carer on a part time basis, for 4-8 hours a week, starting immediately. This role is to take our 8 year old child out and about and isn't an in-house sitting role. Our child has special needs, so experience in this area will be an advantage.

The hours are really flexible. We have 16 hours to use over a month (and 32 hours a month over the school holidays). These can be used as 4 hours a week, or 8 hours every two weeks or even 2 hours one week and 6 hours another week etc. The hours can also fit around what our child needs and what the carer's availability is. And it doesn't have to be a set day, we can vary the days each week if needed, so it's super flexible. This is an ideal role if you are looking for extra hours to top up another role you already have.

The likelihood is that the role will include things like taking her to a movie, or for a walk in the park, or a swimming class, or horse riding and quite often a day at a theme park (for example). This will change week to week to keep it varied for both our child and the carer.

You will be required to:
- Pick up our child and drop her home so you will need a drivers licence. You can either use your own car (and claim mileage) or we have a car you can use (it's manual, not automatic)
- Be capable and somewhat fit as she likes to run sometimes and has limited safety awareness
- Be physically strong enough to help her to get in and out of things, on and off rides or help her up if she falls etc. You are not required to lift her, just assist her
- Partake in whatever excursions, events or lessons you go on, whether it be in the pool for swimming, going on rides with her at theme parks, helping her through soft play obstacles or just eating popcorn with her at the movies! You need to be hands on
- Assist her with self care such as toileting, cleaning up after eating, changing her clothes (if required) and personal hygiene.

You are not required to cook for, bath or clean up after our child in the home. There are no typical nursery duties like washing, tidying rooms or cleaning duties. This is not a nanny or babysitter role, it is a carer/companion role to take our child out for excursions.

Applicants must:
- Have experience looking after young children
- Have an up-to-date DBS (although we can cover the cost if not)
- Have a clean UK drivers licence and be able to drive
- Be CPR and first aid trained and up-to-date (we can discuss updating this at a later date if needed for the right applicant)
- Be a non-smoker

Having experience with children with special needs is a bonus but not essential, so please don't let this stop you from applying.

The rate is around £14ph (gross) as a base, which is the council rate we are given, PLUS we will add more to the hourly rate depending on experience and this is open to negotiation.

We look forward to hearing from you.
