About Me
I’m 38 year old mum of two and have been working as a childminder since November 2011. I have a passion for the outdoors, reading, and swimming, and I find working with children incredibly rewarding.
My husband, Matt, and I are both registered childminders, running a family-based, home-from-home setting where we create a fun and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Our aim is to prepare children for school and teach life long skills through engaging activities and play.
We currently have spaces available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday with further days becoming available from September.

My Experience
Until becoming a childminder in 2011 I previously worked as a nursery room manager for three years and as a nursery nurse in two other nurseries. Overall I gained 6 years of experience in a nursery setting. I have extensive experience caring for young children, especially babies from age 0 to 2 years.
My husband, Matt, and I have been childminding for 13 years, caring for children aged 0-11. Many of the children start with us as babies, allowing them to form long-lasting friendships and develop strong social skills in a nurturing environment. We have found every moment of our childminding journey thoroughly enjoyable!
Our most recent inspection on 13th February 2025 we retained our Outstanding grade.
My Qualifications
Degree in Early Childhood Studies and Health Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University.
12 A-C GCSE's
3 A-levels
Up to date CRB/ DBS
Paediatric First aid.

My Availability
I work five days a week Monday to Friday and I am open from 7.30 until 6 pm.
I provide school drop off and pick ups from Hylands Primary for £5.50 an hour and an extra £1.50 for an evening meal at 16:45.
Our current daily rate is £53.50.
Funded spaces are available with a charge of £1 per meal and £0.50 per snack if required.
Additional hours before or after funded sessions are charged at £5.78 per hour.
I accept tax free childcare payments and childcare vouchers.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.78 per hour
Individual circumstances will be taken into account please contact me by email if you have any enquiries.
Fees for child-minding will roughly be £53.50, this includes all snacks and meals. All allergies and dietary needs will be catered for but may incur additional fees.
Brothers and sisters will be able to receive a discount up until school ages.

Our son was with Rachel and Matt for over a year, and we only had to leave as we were moving out of the area. I cannot recommend them enough! The setting is like a home-from-home, and you feel part of the family. Communication is excellent. A lot of the children have been there for a very long time too, which is a testament to the care they provide. Rachel and Matt are thoughtful and caring with the children. They have a structured day, with lots of garden time and free play time. My son really developed when he was there and learnt loads of new words and skills. Rachel went above and beyond in supporting us through my son's medical issues, and I couldn't thank her enough for the wonderful care she provided for my son! Highly recommended

Rachel is a warm genuine person who doesn’t just care about the children she looks after but the parents too. The kids love her and we would be lost without her

Rachel & Matt started looking after my son from 18 months (he is now coming up for 4) and my daughter from 9 months (she is nearly 2). I couldn't have asked for a more excellent environment for my children. They love going everyday and always have things they want to tell and show Matt and Rachel. My son has learnt so much and is currently enjoying numbers. My little girl has grown up and learning so much more than I could have imagined. Rachel and Matt provide healthy meals and snacks. They encourage learning as well as play time. My kids enjoy film nights, baking, playgroups, trips out to the park, soft play and outings for learning activities. They are very organised and there is app where they upload what they have done that day, eaten etc. I know leaving your kids with someone else while you're at work can be very difficult but I have never had to worry. Rachel and Matt are extremely open, approachable and willing to help and go that extra mile to make sure your child is safe and feels at home. Their home is very clean and there are lots of things for the kids to do. My kids are always coming home with things they have made or telling me what they have learnt. If you need a childminder please go and see Rachel and Matt. I can't recommend them highly enough and I am so grateful that I managed to find them. My kids couldn't be happier and neither could me and my husband
