About Me
I am an Ofsted registered nanny and childminder. I have worked with families since 2016 ages 5 months to teenagers.
I am a 39 year old, mum of 2 (10 years and 2 years). I have nannied for many years now in varying capacities (full/part time/proxy parent/night nanny/after school/weekend nanny).
I consider myself a career nanny, by this I mean I see myself as a professional. I am registered with Ofsted - meaning I meet their requirements (such as first aid, DBS, qualification, public liability insurance, business insurance for transporting little ones). I undertake quality, accredited CPD to ensure I can provide quality care.
I have a real interest in the early years, these years count for so much and having the right child care really is priceless. Knowledge on child development and intentional teaching practice has been the focus of my CPD for the last few years- I am now drawing on and building this knowledge and skills to become a qualified early years teacher (early years teacher status is the equivalent of qualified teaching status). Due to studying, having my childminding setting (open Wed, Thurs, Fri) and nannying for a lovely family- I no longer have any availability for regular work. I have limited availability for babysitting. Or please message me for availability at Little Bears Durham.
If you’re looking for a babysitter, yes, you may get cheaper childcare but caregiving is much much more than having an adult present in the home. Care giving is education, it is the teaching of attachment, trust, dignity and empathy, and eventually independence.

Lynsey has been an occasional babysitter for my 9 year old son since Dec 2023. She is very well qualified, competent and dedicated and gives my son a really engaging and fulfilling time wether at our home or hers. She is calm, punctual, reliable, kind, creative and my son now asks when he's going to see Lynsey again as he always has such a good time in her care. My babysitting needs are ad hoc but Lynsey always gets back to me promptly and always finds time to accommodate our needs wether its an evening weekend or a couple of hours in the daytime during the week. I'd highly recommend her services.

Lynsey is great at looking after children, even when the notice is short. She's able to connect with small children very fast. She is always on time and looks after my son really well. He asks for her to read him stories at night. I would highly recommend her for parties/weddings also, because she is very reliable and gets on with kids marvellously in hardly any time at all.

Lynsey baby sat my 2 boys for an evening and really engaged with them, I felt she looked after them well and they both enjoyed her sitting with them with youngest calling her 'kind'. I would employ Lynsey again

Lynsey stepped into the breach to look after my three children aged 4,7,9 for 3 months in the capacity as nanny. She was very much put in at the deep end at what was an extremely busy time work wise for both my husband and I, this did not faze her one bit. She was an absolute star with the children and very quickly built up a lovely rapport with them, they loved their time with Lynsey as their nanny. I was worried about finding somebody to bridge the gap for such a short space of time and how they would fit into the family but all my fears quickly disappeared after finding Lynsey. Lynsey is such a lovely person, very easy going, shy at first but slowly came out of her shell and great with children. Can’t recommend her enough.

Lynsey stepped in as emergency childcare for a weekend day when I couldn't find anyone. She is punctual, reliable, and above all really lovely and patient with my (that day very fussy) little boy which I really appreciated! Thank you, Lynsey :).

Ever so grateful to Lynsey for looking after our daughter this last week, at three events in Corbridge, Durham and Newcastle. Built a really good relationship with our daughter, and was always fully professional, punctual, quick to respond and a pleasure to meet and interact with.

Lynsey has looked after my 2 children on a few occasions and has massively helped me out with emergency childcare. My children (7&5) lived spending time with Lynsey and the activities she done with them...they didn't want her to leave!!
Highly recommended!!! Xx
