Welcome to Our Childminding Service in Southwark!
Hello! I’m Chrisy, a childminder in the London Borough of Southwark with nearly 25 years of experience. Our setting is warm, lively, and dedicated to providing the highest level of care for children in their early years. I work alongside an assistant who has been with me for 15 yrs she is OFSTED-cleared with training in First Aid, Safeguarding, and Observations. Our family home includes myself my daughter and young grandson, creating a friendly, family-oriented environment where children feel at home.
Our Passion and Experience
In addition to my extensive experience, I hold a Level 2 qualification in mental health in early years and have completed training in Temper Tantrums and Trauma, aiming to understand children’s emotions—especially those who may not yet have the words to express themselves. Our setting is also Early Years SENCO certified, and I am passionate about learning more about early childhood development, with a special focus on supporting children on the spectrum or with emerging needs.
Our Approach to Childcare
We offer care for children from birth to four years, though we especially enjoy taking on children from birth to 1.5 years and continuing to support them until nursery age. While we don’t provide school runs or care for school-aged children, we are happy to offer continuity during holidays for children who have moved on to school.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, creating a balance of structured activities and child-led play. Our setting benefits from two nearby parks, perfect for outdoor activities and nature walks. We also plan exciting trips to places like farms, zoos, museums, and the Tiny Gym, always considering what might interest the children and incorporating their ideas into our daily schedule.
A Pet-Friendly Home
Our home is shared with two friendly house cats and a calming fish tank, which the children love. Our 13-year-old cat enjoys playing with the children, while the fish offer a soothing presence. We believe it’s important for children to learn about caring for animals, and we encourage them to help with feeding and nurturing duties.
Spaces Available
Currently, we have space for 1-2 children (birth to 1.6 years) and happily welcome siblings. We were freshly inspected by OFSTED in May 2024 and were rated “Good” (Level 2), reflecting our commitment to quality care.
Our hours are 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Thursday, and due to our planned activities, we only offer full-day care. Located close to Denmark Hill and Peckham train stations and with excellent bus connections, our setting is ideal for parents commuting in all directions across London.
Communication with Parents
We value open communication with our families. We speak with parents daily, sharing updates on their child’s day and development. We are always available to discuss their child’s progression, address any concerns, and plan next steps to support each child’s growth.

All-Inclusive Care for Your Little One
As a mother of two, I know how hectic mornings can be, making sure everything is ready for the day ahead. To make things easier, we offer an all-inclusive setting where we provide everything your child needs, including nappies, wipes, food, and beverages. All we ask is for a change of clothing and your child’s red book for emergencies.
Our fees are available upon visit, and we’re here to answer any questions you may have to help make your childcare decision as stress-free as possible.

My son first started going to Chrisy’s house when he had just turned one years old. Chrisy honestly made the process so smooth for me, as a first-time mum and being so nervous to leave my baby with anyone. From the initial meeting with myself and my boy, to settling him in, to sending me constant photos of my boy throughout the day, and endless updates!
My son enjoyed himself thoroughly at Chrisy’s house and was sometimes reluctant to come home with me!
Chrisy took the children on regular day trips to the zoo, museums, and sensory parks, as well as the local playgrounds – all at no extra cost.
My son was fed home cooked hearty meals every day, and Chrisy always informed me before hand on the ingredients as my boy has allergies. Honestly, she is an angel!
Unfortunately, myself and my son moved some distance away from Chrisy, but when we moved back 2 years later, there was no one else that I wanted to look after my little one. Chrisy now does the school pickups for my son, and he is always excited to tell me what he gets up to after school at Chrisy’s. The latest escapade was growing butterflies from caterpillars (my son is obsessed with bugs!)
Chrisy pours sooo much love and attention into the children as if they are her own, it is plain to see they love being in her care. She is so kind and understanding, I cannot sing her praises enough!

I don't know where to begin but here it goes:
I am a single mum with two small toddlers, a one year old and a two year old. My two year old started when he was around four months as I was volunteering once a week. Then when I went back to work he was attending Monday to Thursday. I then asked Chris if she could have him on Fridays for the first few weeks of having my second son just so I could adjust to a new baby and she said Yes without hesitation, which was VERY kind of her as usually she doesn't work on Fridays.
Shortly after a few weeks my second son joined at 10 weeks old and I went back to work. They attended 4 days a week and really enjoyed the environment that I often get tantrums going home as they don't want to leave.
When I took a break from work for 8 weeks Chris kindly kept the children's space and had them when I was interviewing for part time roles.
I cannot tell you how many times this woman has helped me and gone out of her way to support me and my kids by giving me advice, looking after them whilst I was at therapy and more! She really is a SAINT!
My 2 year old is in the process of having assessments carried out to determine if he is autistic and she has been very helpful as she has experience with SEN children and can quickly calm him down.
The children go on lovely trips to parks, zoo, museums and cinema and much more!
They eat home made food and have their own cups, plates and etc.
She buys toys nearly every other day and will always be understanding of personal circumstances!
