Hello, my name is Joan. I'm from Ireland originally but have been living in Gloucester for the past 7 years. I have a daughter who is 23 and a son of 28. Spending time with them is probably what brings me the most pleasure. When I'm not doing that, I enjoy days out with friends. I enjoy live music, eating out and going to the cinema.
My Experience
Back in Ireland I looked after children in my own home for a number of years. Then I got a job as a classroom assistant in our local preschool. It was whilst working there that I made the decision to move to Gloucester. Initially I worked in retail when I moved here, then I took a couple of years off, but for the past year I have been looking after a baby two days a week. |He was 10 months old when I started with him. He has now moved on to childminder who has more children as he is ready to start mixing. I was looking after him on a one to one basis.
My Qualifications
As I was a private childminder I do not hold any qualifications, but I can provide references from the parents of all the children I have cared for, along with one from my last employer. I also have an up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
My Availability
I work two days in a preschool, Wed and Thurs, but ideally I would like to work at least three days a week, so would consider giving that up if someone needed me for more than two days. I am also available for babysitting in the evenings and at weekends.
