About Me
Ofsted Registered childminder, based in Hetton le Hole. Ideal for parents either working or living close by. Until recently I went out to work leaving my own 2 children in childcare, so I understand completely the importance of offering a secure and loving environment to put parents mind at ease, as well as helping the child to grow, learn and achieve. I believe it is important children learn through play and exploring. I attend local playgroups as well as having regular trips and outings to farms, parks, beaches etc. There is no extra charge for playgroups or trips. I offer before and after school care for St Michael's RC Primary School, Houghton. Twinkletime offers a loving home from home environment whilst also providing all a nursery can offer by following the EYFS programme. All EYFS children are given a daily diary to show activities throughout the day, meals, sleep times etc. A learning Journal is provided also tracking the childs learning and achievements throughout their time with Twinkletime. Healthy home cooked meals provided for children attending a full day*, snacks provided to all children in care at snack times.
My Experience
I have experience of looking after newborn to school age children, tracking their development and working in partnership. I ensure i work to the ability of the child as an individual as well as encouraging and working towards their next steps. I keep parents updated regularly and as the child gets older arrange meetings to discuss their learning and development. You can be assured your child is my focus and has the advantage of being in a smaller close knit environment, but also experiences meeting other children and people as we go on so many outings and regular groups.
My Qualifications
Sunderland Council Introduction to Childcare Practice course.
I hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Other courses attended:
Safeguarding requirements and awareness.
Food Hygiene,
Child Protection Level 3
Child Neglect
Equality and Diversity
Makaton Signing
Autism awareness
Self regulation of emotions and behaviour
I am also a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
My Availability
Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6pm
15 and 30 hour funding
Term time only contracts available.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
Monday- Friday from £4.50
Term time only contracts available
Payment is to invoice monthly in advance.
A morning and afternoon snack is included for all children in my care at the time. A lunch is provided for children in my care all day (minimum 6 hours). It can be offered to others for a small charge.
A contract will be in place to offer peace of mind.
Childcare Vouchers accepted
15 and 30 hour funding available.

My daughter is a lockdown baby born April 2020. She was a very shy baby and wouldn't leave my side (which is understandable considering what we'd been through.) I was very apprehensive about leaving her with anyone let alone somebody totally new. We went to meet Dawn and from the minute we arrived I knew she was going to be happy there.
It took a week to settle in which is unbelieveable! She absolutely loves going she runs to the door on a morning and shouts of Dawn all of the time. I couldn't thank Dawn enough for treating her like one of her own children and for how much she does for my little girl. I would 100% recommend her to anybody.

At first we were very apprehensive about leaving our little girl with a childminder, but after afew meetings we knew dawn was perfect. Lovely friendly knowledgeable and approachable she anwsered all of our questions and gave our daughter 3 settling in sessions.
Since then our daughter has come on alot. Very socailable with other children and adults because dawn takes her to many different groups and does lots of activities. Our daughter loves dawn and most of the time eould rather stay with her than come home because they get on really well.
We are over the moon with the service dawn provides and couldn't reccomend her any higher.
