Hello,
My name is Nicola but I’m known by Nicky, I have been an OFSTED registered, CRB checked, childminder in the Bishopstoke area since 1999.
I'm married to David and we have two daughters, Alex and Chloe. I have lived in Bishopstoke for 31 years and know the local area well.
I worked as an accredited PACEY network childminder until the scheme ended.
I offer the government funding for eligible children aged from 9 months to 4yrs .
My house is in a small cul-de-sac with a safe and secure garden
I feel I create a warm , welcoming, home from home, friendly and fun, environment for the children and aim to be an extension of mum and dad. We are always out and about visiting local parks,feeding the ducks, mums and tots groups, soft play areas, childminding clubs, and visiting other childminders so that the children are mixing socially and making friends. We also venture further afield to beaches and country parks. Giving the children many different experiences and having fun.
When it comes to activities, I offer a wide variety for the children and link them to their individual interests. This can be anything from games, to arts and crafts, and themed learning. The children love playing with my wide range of toys and getting their hands dirty by participating in messy play. We always have lots of fun and the children go home happy.
I am lucky that I have a job that I enjoy and no two days are the same.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 25 years and have looked after children of all ages and abilities.
Both my daughters were born prematurely, my youngest born at 27 weeks and I can remember how I felt having to go back to work, even though I was leaving her with my mum, but this has helped me in supporting new mums and babies in what can be a very emotional time .

My daughter has been with Nicky for the last two years, since she was a year old. Returning to work was one of the most daunting prospects but Nicky was amazing at putting my mind at ease. Nicky is a very kind, caring and approachable lady. Caring for all of the children she looks after as if they were her own, with their best interests at heart.
I love that Nicky welcomes my daughter into her home helping her develop her key skills through play and repetition. It feels like she learns something new every time she goes to Nicky's house.
Nicky's home is a warm, clean and safe environment and has a wide range of toys for all of the children to play with. Nicky regularly engages the children in different craft activities and we often have beautiful cards, paintings and drawings that come home.
I really love the planned days out where Nicky takes the children to socialise with other local childminders. They go to the garden centres, local parks, country parks, the seaside and other local events which my Daughter really enjoys. They are often outdoors in the fresh air. I always know that she is safe and will have a great, fun filled day when she is with Nicky. I can see how much learning and fun she gets from being with Nicky which is invaluable to me.
I consider Nicky as a close friend and I would not want my daughter to be with anyone else.
