My Summary
About Me
I started childminding in 2007 when my own children were 4 and 2 years of age.
I continued to childmind from this time up until the start of the Covid pandemic. During my time childminding I have had the pleasure of looking after many different children from different backgrounds.
We would embark on many different activities to ensure the children had the best experiences possible to enrich their lives and compliment their personal, emotional and social development. I would take them on regular visits to Willows Farm for which I have annual passes as well as Paradise Wildlife Park. We would take weekly trips to various different playgroups so we could patake in arts and crafts and song time as well as socialising with other children.
I followed the Early Years Curriculum closely so I could closely monitor each individual child's development and cater for their individual needs.
Since the pandemic I have helped various other childminders within their settings as I have built up a very comprehensive network of childcare provider colleagues over the years.
I now feel it is the right time in my career to carry on within the profession I love and am passionate about but on a more personal one to one level.
I have accumulated a great deal of knowledge and experience working with children of all ages from birth to 11 years plus. I have been ofsted registered for approximately 15 years as well as DBS checked and have paediatric first aid training.
I have attended various courses including safeguarding and have an NVQ3 qualification in childcare and development.
I have various references from families I have worked with in the past and character references from work colleagues.
To develop children's social skills I regularly attend local childminding and toddler groups. I love to be out and about, so we also visit local parks, indoor soft play and other places of interest. I hold an annual pass for Willows Farm and love to take children there for the day. I live in the Knightsfield area of Welwyn Garden City and we often go for walks in the nearby woodland.
All trips are included in my hourly rate. I am registered as a small food business with Welwyn Hatfield Council, which allows me to prepare and serve food to children in my house.
In my home children are encouraged to sit and eat meals together - it's a great opportunity for them to interact with each other and learn good table manners.
In addition to my Paediatric First Aid qualification and Safeguarding Training (Child Protection) - both of which I renew every 3 years - I have completed my NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. I continue to attend various courses in line with Ofsted's requirements. I am a member of Pacey (the charity which supports childminders) and receive various emails and other publications from them which help me to provide a good service. I also work closely with other local childminders - we share lots of ideas and resources and are able to offer cover when any of us are unavailable due to sickness or holiday.
I accept payment or part-payment by Childcare vouchers - if you are new to this scheme I'll be happy to help you get set up.
Please do contact me to discuss your childcare requirements.... I look forward to hearing from you!

Samie has been and was great during the month she helped us! I was a bit nervous at the beginning because I had never left my children with a childminder before, but she reassured me before and throughout the days my boy was with her, sending photos of all the fun things they did during the day. She is really amazing and fun. By the second day, Alan was already excited to start a "Samie day" and declared he did not like mummy days anymore because they were boring! 3 year olds are brutally honest. I highly recommend Samie without a doubt. I only wished she lived in Bath so we could still get Samie days! So plan B is to clone her. Thank you so much Samie for all your help and for taking Alan under your wing in such short notice. You are really the best. Xx

Samie has been our childminder for almost 4 years now. I was, like most new mothers, so nervous about going back to work after maternity leave and working in London meant leaving my daughter for 10 hours at a time – Samie was brilliant! She sent updates throughout the day and pictures so I knew my daughter was happy.
My daughter has allergies which required her to carry medication and epipens. Samie gave me the assurance she was fully trained in what to do in the circumstances of an attack and in the 4 years my daughter has been with her she has never been exposed to any of her allergens and her medication has been kept with her at all times just in case.
They are always out and about and going to the farm. I am pleased she has been so many different places and been exposed to so many different settings whilst always having the security of always knowing who she is with and that she is safe and cared for. My daughter has had a brilliant time with Samie and will miss her so much now she is going on to primary school.
Samie works incredibly hard to accommodate everyone. She has been so flexible regarding pick up and drop off times. It has been amazing. Not sure what we would have done without her.
Samie’s own family are wonderful and I know my daughter loves them too.
Can’t recommend Samie highly enough. She is a lovely, kind, caring and vibrant person who is full of energy and absolutely loves the kids she looks after. She cooks for them and gets them all eating veg I think we struggle to get them to eat at home. She really cares about all the kids she looks after (and the parents too)!
My daughter has always really looked forward to her Samie days!

Samie has looked after my daughter (aged 6) for 18 months and is amazing with her.
Right from the beginning she has made my daughter feel welcomed and loved. She is always out and about with the children so that they can experience different activities. In the summer holidays they go somewhere different every day, and my duaghter is so excited when it's a 'Samie Day'.
Samie is the first childminder I have used and was apprehensive about leaving her with someone. But I need not have worried at all - Samie sent me photos of their first afternoon together and my daughter was completely at ease when I collected her.
Samie genuinely loves all of the children as if they were her own.
If I need any extra time (after school, mornings or holidays) she will always try to accommodate and is really flexible to enable me to work.
In my daughters words - I love Samie looking after me and we are always having fun.

We've had samie now since Lula was around 1 years old, she's now 2 and a half. It took a lot for me to leave Lula but knowing samie from looking after other people's children over the years, I felt more comfortable trying her out. I usedvto work in a place where a group of childminders brought their children. Samie stood out from the group andvalways seemed happy and very chatty towards the kids. She also was always so polite towards me and my staff. I now wouldn't go with anyone else. Samie is fun and loving. Lula absolutely adores samie which gives me peace of mind. She does so much with the kids always venturing out and about and always learning new things. I struggle with lulas eating yet samie will get her trying new things. I also love that samie can pick Lula up from me and drop her off which is a real convinience. I highly recommend samie to anybody seeking trust, fun and skills. We love samie on a personal level and can guarantee anyone who goes with her will do also

Samie really is an extension of our family which is exactly what I wanted when looking for childcare for my babies. My children 2 years 9 months and 5) have been with Samie for just over 2 years. From day 1 she has made them feel loved and welcomed, given them amazing development opportunities through fun activities and games as well as loads of outdoor walks, trips to farm, parks and interaction with other children at playgroups and dance classes. She is firm but fair makes the children laugh everyday and really is the most amazing childminder. I literally couldn't imagine having left my kids (esp my little boy who was only 9 months when first with Samie) with anyone else. If you looking for someone to give your children an extension of your home, have fun and show them loads of love and care then seriously couldn't recommend more highly.

Samie had my daughter for a year. (She now goes to pre school) I have never met someone as lovely as Samie and I can honestly say she is the best. She kept my daughter entertained everyday with trips to the farm, play groups lavender fields and many more destinations. And also quiet time for a nap if needed.Evie was always excited to see Samie and never wanted to come home! She is one of a kind. Id recommend her to anyone.

Samie has looked after both of my children from 9months onwards until full-time school and I have always felt that the care she gives is exceptional. The children have always been happy to go to Samie's and the activities they do are amazing - there's always something exciting planned to keep them nicely busy!
Samie's approach is relaxed yet professional and the children know they are cared for, but at the same time won't get away with bad behaviour.
The parent/carer communication has been constant to ensure both have the latest 'intel' when comes to the little darlings and the things they do, eat, say (thanks for getting them back to eating lasagne!).
My children have been allowed to be individuals with the occasional off day and plenty of love along the way - Samie is their 2nd Mum.
Whenever people give me praise for what beautiful and well behaved children I have, I have to admit that it's definitely been a team effort. Thank you, Samie, for giving my children a great start in life.

Samie has been looking after my daughter Ruby now for 6 months and I can honestly say I made the right choice in choosing her. She is very caring, spontaneous and is fantastic with the kids. I was very apprehensive letting a 'stranger' look after my child, but after a week of Ruby settling down I now have to bribe her with cake to come home! I like the fact that Samie takes part in activities such as play groups, trips to the farm, into London etc ruby is never bored. I really feel like its home from home when she's there :-) Would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Samie has been looking after my 8 month baby Ilana part time for the last 3 months. As a first time mum returning to work I was quite nervous but Samie was reassuring and has always kept me updated. She is very caring and fun and also very loving towards my daughter and I trust her implicitly.
