Hi my name is Carol and I am 50 years old (ouch!). I am Ofsted registered and live in a three bedroomed semi-detached house in a quite cul-de-sac in Leyland. My house has a lovely secure back garden with a flagged area that is roofed where the children can paint or draw, play with small world, construction, sand all year round. The opportunities are endless! I have a lawn and in the corner of the garden there is a mud kitchen where children can create wonderful recipes. I have an area where we plant and grow vegetables through the year. The children enjoy helping take care of them, watching them grow and finally getting to eat them. I provide a warm, loving home environment where the children feel safe and loved. The daily activities and outings are planned with each child's individual needs in mind. These include lots of messy play, play dough, water, arts and craft. We also do baking activities. I take the children on regular walks to the local shops, library and we also go on outings to the parks, Worden, Astley, Witten, Brockholes being my favourites. We go to soft play areas, on the train or bus into Preston, children centres, the library where the children can build on their social skills with an opportunity to interact with other children and broaden their vocabulary by participating in nursery rhymes and songs and also increasing their physical development. The majority of meals I provide are home made, healthy and nutritious as well as a morning and afternoon snack. Water is made available throughout the day, milk/water at meal times. Your child will eat a lot of different fruit and vegetables and they will learn about eating a nutritious balanced diet. I sit and eat with the children as I believe that children learn good eating practice this way, also this is a great opportunity to have wonderful conversations with the children. I pride myself on having a great rapport with parents and guardians and we work together to provide the best care and education to suit each individual child. I do not have children of my own but am godmother to four children! I am very close with my family and friends and often have my nephews and friends' children for sleepovers at my house.
