About Me

My name is Hannah and I am the Ofsted registered childminder of ‘We Care Childcare’ based off Willington Street in Maidstone. We have a wonderful setting with play room, stimulating outdoor area and free flow throughout my home. We also enjoy the outdoors and get out as much as possible to places such as parks, farms, toddler groups, heritage attractions etc.
I am qualified up to level 5 in childcare, with over 9 years experience as a childminder and many years working in nurseries previous to this, as well as raising my own children. I also hold an early years assessor qualification to provide training and deliver the early years qualification to other practitioners.
I work with a fantastic assistant who holds a level 2 childcare qualification and is currently working towards her level 3. She is very popular with the children due to her lovely, kind nature. We are a close team who are all really passionate about what we do. We also have great relationships with our families which is always a priority to us and hope is reflected in our reviews.
We can provide up to 30 hours funded childcare for all 3 and 4 year olds and funded places for eligible 2 year olds as well as being registered for the tax free childcare scheme and accepting childcare vouchers.
Everyone in our setting is enhanced DBS checked, first aid and child safeguarding trained. We are fully insured and also have a wealth of relevant qualifications including special needs training, working with autism and many more (listed below). Our professional development is very important to us and we always work to build on this and keep our knowledge up to date.
We offer full and part time childcare as well as school pick up and drop offs to selected schools.
Our setting is a homely, spacious environment. We are very child friendly, with mark making, books and toys always available and children's work displayed throughout, from art work in the house to mud kitchens and bug hotels in the garden.
We never give children toys and just leave them to it. Our weeks activities are planned around stimulating children's interests and imagination to ensure they are always learning and developing through play and exploration following EYFS guidelines. Children are invited to take part in activities such as arts and crafts, baking, gardening, sensory plays such as sand, water, playdoughs and plenty of adult led activities to introduce them to new things.
We attend children’s groups in our local area such as messy play toddler groups and music bugs. We have good relationships with local schools and other local childminders which means children get lots of interaction with wider groups of children.
We also get involved with local initiatives and support our community where possible. We have recently been featured in the Kent messenger and ITV news for our work. We have also been featured in PACEY (professional association for childcare and early years) blogs and foundation years newsletters for our creative activities with the children.
We offer healthy meals and snacks if required, included in our hourly rates. Children get involved with all aspects including growing their own vegetables in the garden, helping come up with balanced menus and baking.
Children’s progress and activities are recorded on our online portfolio system, meaning parents have access to them at any time.
We work in partnership with parents to ensure all children's needs are being met and any routines put in place or followed on from home if required. Our setting is fully equipped with facilities for children’s nap times and outings, including age appropriate car seats/ pushchairs etc, providing ease to parents.
We offer competitive rates and flexible sessions, please message for more information or any questions you might have. We look forward to hearing from you!

My children having been coming to Hannah for the past year now. I honestly don’t know how to praise her and Wendy enough. I couldn’t ask for a better childminder.
The girls deliver learning, activities and routine like a little nursery whilst also managing to make you feel like a home from home. Amazing setting, amazing activities, great learning opportunities, healthy home cooked meals, amazing outings, great information sharing with home. Everything you could ask for and I’m so grateful to them.

Well, where do we begin? Our daughter has been with Hannah for the best part of 2 years and is just about to leave her setting for big school.
Communication has always been fabulous, the updates on the baby days app are useful to see what is happening along with the social media updates.
Hannah was fabulous at settling her in and quickly got to know her interests. She has been caring and patient in supporting her settling and has helped her grow during her time through a wide range of wonderful experiences. We will all miss being part of your little family xxx

Kelly I can’t thank you enough for your review but also just for the pleasure of working with you and your family. You have all been amazing and it’s been so hard saying our goodbyes for school. We will stay in touch, you always will be a part our family! X

Our child started attending with Hannah at 9 months old in August 2020. She was really good with him and he settled easily, so we had no worries leaving him there. Hannah and her assistants have regularly described him as ‘the childminders dream’, because he’s so laid back. Unfortunately, due to rising cases of COVID-19 and me being extremely vulnerable we chose to temporarily take him out for our safety. After 7 weeks he returned and was clearly out of the habit of attending as he was unsettled. We collected him early twice because he was so distressed and agreed to do settling in sessions the following week to get him used to it again. However, on the Sunday Hannah text to say he wouldn’t be able to go in the following week because of her own personal reasons, she then wouldn’t tell us when he could go back and on the Monday text to give notice to say he couldn’t return. I was so shocked at the unprofessional way this was dealt with as Hannah only text and would not speak to us on the phone as well as the short notice of it all. It also feels very much like our child was welcome there all the time he was easy, but given he wasn’t as settled on his return he was no longer welcome to attend. Therefore, I would recommend that if you want stability for your child and the security of their ongoing childcare and your peace of mind while working, you should probably seek childcare elsewhere.

Response by Avatar for Wecare_c Wecare_c on 12/04/2021:

Hi jo, thanks for your review and I’m glad to hear you was happy with our care up until leaving.
Unfortunately as I already explained to you, I had to reduce my assistants hours when you withdrew your son from his space to absorb some of the financial impact of this. We was completely understanding of your reasons for wanting to do this and allowed you to break the terms of your contract by not giving the required notice period. However, we was then given less than a weeks notice that you wanted to return to the setting. My assistant was unable to increase her hours again at short notice and I was unable to settle your son back into the setting whilst caring for other children and also home schooling my own children at the time.
I answered messages from you about this for 5 hours on a Sunday, whilst spending time with my family. I missed one single phone call from you, which your messaged immediately after and I also answered this.
During this time, you continuously asked me to disregard my own family needs and care of other childminding children, to prioritise your own requirements, including asking me to break Covid and lockdown restrictions on a number of occasions, which I told you I couldn’t do.
We was also informed that once returning to your space, you would potentially be leaving again in a few short months due to your own personal circumstances changing.
With all of this in mind, I actually acted in the most professional way I could, by informing you that we just wasn’t in a position to meet your requirements, despite our best attempts.
I’m really disappointed that you have chosen to make comments that paint us in a bad light because of this. As you say, we offered you the best possible care throughout your contract and was extremely reliable up until you withdrew from your space. As you can see from every single other review we have received throughout my entire career, no one has had a bad word to say about us. We was completely dropped in it ourselves at late notice when you chose to withdraw from the space, the coronavirus has impacted childcare businesses hugely over the past year and we was in limbo not knowing if and when you would return. When you did want to, we just wasn’t in a position to be able to do it. As I say, I charged no notice period, I refunded hours you had been in attendance out of good will and I profusely apologised.
I think it’s very unfair to then say the things you have, but we will take your feedback on board and as I have already said to you in personal conversions, wish you all the best for the future.

Hannah was recommended to me to care for my eldest child and I did not regret the decision to use her care. So much so that Hannah also cared for my daughter years after. Hannah goes above and beyond to make parents feel comfortable which was particularly important to me as a parent nervous to leave my child. She was incredibly understanding and flexible to my work needs and always supportive of any requests that went above and beyond her job role. She kept me updated on my children's daily activities through an online portfolio and I was blown away with the great things she did with both my children to encourage their learning. Both of my children loved going to Hannah and we’re so comfortable in her home, not to mention how much their learning and development excelled in the setting. Hannah still keeps in touch and we pop round for play visits, proving that it is more than just a job to her. I really don’t think you could ask for a better childminder.

Thanks so much for such a lovely review 🥰

My daughter was with Hannah for 2 years. She was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much. She always had a smile on her face and my daughter loved spending her days with Hannah, it made my life a lot easier knowing how happy my daughter was. Was so devastated when my daughter left Hannah to go to school. She is truly magnificent.
