I am a responsible, enthusiastic and reliable individual with a broad variety of experience working with children; including several years nannying children of early years and school ages plus 5 years experience within youth work, supporting teenagers through residential programmes and managing high level safeguarding concerns.
I create a friendly yet authoritative figure from a young person’s perspective and have a brilliant ability to think of creative and individual activities due to my fun, energetic personality and pure passion for working with children. My passion at home is cooking (vegan particularly) so healthy cooking is something I know much about. I love to visit new places too and have spent time in Asia, South America, Africa and Australia- travelling and volunteering.
I was born in Brighton, where I have spent most of my life, but now work and live in Brixton.
My Experience
I have a wide range of childcare experience; I have worked for 4 separate families as an ad-hoc nanny which involved babies, toddlers and twins. These roles included, preparation of breakfast, organising packed lunches and carrying out the school run, collecting the children from school and taking them to extra curricular activities, preparing and cooking healthy meals, assisting with homework, playing with them and following nighttime routines. I have experience with newborns to 1 year olds which I gained whilst volunteering in an orphanage in Delhi and a Creche assistant position in had until 2014. I've also worked with young children to coach cheerleading, gymnastics and dance sessions in South London.
In recent years, I have been working in the charity sector, supporting young people (particularly aged 16-17 years old) and communities within Lambeth. Through these Project Management roles, I have received extensive safeguarding training, for which I am the named Designated Safeguarding Lead in my organisation, and also taken a full 3 day Emergency First Aid Training course which included First Aid for Children.
