About Me
Hello! My name is Ruby Charlotte Waddell, age 32. I graduated top of my class from a BA Hons degree in Dance with a 2:1 and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Science. After this I completed my Pilates Level 3 teaching qualification and published a children’s book. I have an 8 year old son. I recently completed my childcare and education level 3 and mental health in the early years level 2 and I’m currently doing the level 3 SENCO training.
My Experience
I have been working with children for over 10 years now either as a nanny, in a crèche or in a school. My most recent job was as a teaching assistant in a school where I was a class TA and also a 1:1. I ran nurture groups and the SEN lunch club. I’ve been set up as a childminder since January 2024 and I absolutely love it, I’m such a nurturing person and caring for children is what brings me joy. My aim is for all my minded children to feel at home with me.
My Qualifications
I have a BA Hons in Dance, and have completed a Postgraduate Diploma Dance Science.
I’m a trained Pilates instructor.
I have a level 3 qualification in childcare and education and a level 2 qualification in and mental health in the EYFS. I am in the process of completing a level 3 SENCO course.

Ruby is a wonderful childminder whom our 17 month old daughter adores. I can only reiterate what the other reviews have said!
We had a bad experience with previous childcare so had to find an alternative solution just as I returned to work from mat leave. Ruby was a lifesaver and offered amazing flexibility to fit in with our somewhat awkward schedule!
Margot has always been happy with Ruby from Day 1, a mother’s instincts are never wrong! Ruby has an instant calmness and assertiveness around her, you know your children are in safe hands 😀
I love the little family Ruby has created with the children she childminds and I feel so reassured at every drop off.
Margot also loves Ruby’s son Archer and her little dog Bear, all part of her lovely family.
We’ll be so sad when we have to leave London soon and part ways, I know Margot will be especially!!

My husband and I feel so lucky to have found Ruby. Our little girl, Joni, absolutely loves her and is always so happy to be in Ruby’s care. Ruby is calm and confident and able to provide firm boundaries, she also has a great sense of humour and sense of fun, but is incredibly responsible and reliable!
My daughter started with Ruby when she was only 10 months and it really is a home from home. She absolutely loves all of the activities she does whilst at the setting. Ruby takes her children to forest school, toddler groups, playgrounds, even to the seaside. My older son also loves Ruby and has gone to her setting during the school holidays.
It is clear that Ruby understands child development. She personalises her care and ensures she works with the child’s routine and dietary needs and makes lovely home cooked food. Ruby has helped us to implement a better sleep schedule.
Ruby’s son is also very kind, friendly and mature and the other children love him. Ruby is a very confident, capable driver and has taken my daughter on all sorts of excursions. My daughter loves music, dance and singing and it’s evident that this is explored in Ruby’s setting and has helped her to build these interests with confident.
Ruby has a therapy dog and my daughter absolutely adores him. It has made her confident with animals and both of my children love spending time walking and playing with the dog.
We feel so lucky to have found Ruby. She is providing a secure, nurturing, engaging environment for my daughter where she feels safe and we feel relieved to be able to trust both of our children in her care.
