About Me
Dear Parents, I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2006. My key aim is to facilitate the growth and development of your child. I understand that every child is different and unique and therefore tailor their sessions with me. My home is a comfortable environment where children can come out of their shells and be themselves. Most of the activities are planned around the playroom however, depending on how much time we have we can take trips out to the library, allotment (during the summer), the park etc. In essence I want to create a safe, welcoming, stimulating environment for your children to develop both socially,physically and mentally.
My Experience
I have been childminding since 2006. My experience includes looking after children of all ages from 6 months - 12years, I offer all day childcare, for funded children, before and after school ,part time,adhoc etc
My Qualifications
I have studied childcare and gained the necessary certificates. I also endevour to keep my knowledge updated so I can provide the best care for the children,
Qualifications include:
- NVQ2 play work
- Level 2 safeguarding
- Home-based child care certificate
- heath & safety for children.
- Food safety for child carers
- First aid for child carers
-Early Years Foundation Stage
-Level 3 child care
-Food Hygiene rating 5
-EYFS trained
-Behaviour Management certificate

Very highly recommend Sylvia. She has been amazing with both my boys and my youngest was with her from 6 months until he started school. I skipped preschool with him because Sylvia was that good. Best decision I ever made. He was totally ready for school and has made an excellent start and has impressed his teachers with all he learnt from Sylvia. Her home is truly a home away from home. My son has so much love for Sylvia and still talks about her and misses her dearly. Takes lots and lots of photos and does so many different activities with the children. Plenty of outside space to play and lots of imagination toys on offer as well as learning tasks. My son was always running to Sylvia's door of a morning and ran off without saying goodbye most mornings - just because he was that excited to be with her. Definitely some outstanding childcare offered!

Slvia was an absolute gem as our daughter's childminder. From day one, she created a warm, nurturing environment where our little one felt completely at home. Sylvia's genuine care, patience, and dedication are evident in the way she engages with our daughter, made each day full of fun and learning. It's a comfort to know she was in such capable and loving hands. Highly recommend her to any parent looking for someone truly special!"

Sylvia is an excellent childminder. My daughter had a great time with her. Sylvia was caring and communicative, sending lots of photos and videos. She also takes the kids on outings, often at the park and local library story time.

Sylvia has been foundation Childcare for my child and she has lot of positive influence on my child. She is patient and loving. Very understanding and supportive of early Childcare. It was stress free once my child was at her place. Her place has a homely vibe where kids are free to play in a safe environment.

Sylvia looked after my two kids from 2015 to 2019, and even now that,my kids are grown up, I still drop them off during the holidays. I would definitely recommend this lady, she is experienced with kids, my kids absolutely love her, and used to look forward to going to her.

My son had been with Sylvia for about three years, he really enjoyed being with Sylvia which gave us peace of mind at work. Sylvia is very caring and always gives her full attention in every aspect of the child's growth, be it playing, eating, learning- everything really! My son is very respectful to elders, good with his eating habits, also excelling in his studies which all started from Sylvia. Thank you very much Sylvia for taking care of our son, we are forever grateful to you! :)

It was the first time l used a childminder for my 3rd child. To be honest I was a little apprehensive but now I wish I had used Sylvia for my first two children. They would have really benefited from it more. Instead we juggled it between ourselves.
At all times l felt my daughter was safe and happy with Sylvia.
