About Me
“Each child is unique and they all learn at their own pace, in their own special way.” This is my belief in any setting. As a former teaching Deputy Head it is my passion to ensure I give of my very best in order to support every child’s potential. I have an ability to draw children in with my funny and loving personality; with this I create a safe and relaxed environment in which they can thrive. I love creating new games for learning with the children. Understanding the EYFS framework and the school curriculum, I listen to childrens’ interests and in turn happily spend my free time researching new ideas, topics and practises on search engines, local libraries and forums to ensure that I give them every possible opportunity to blossom in my setting, at their nursery or school! After having worked in nurseries and schools I have developed a bank of skills working with a variety of professionals, parents and children of all ages. I am a friendly, funny, caring and highly motivated person who works hard and am always eager to learn new skills and accept challenges. Staying home with my two little girls was very important as I found it difficult returning to the workforce because no one could provide what I needed. So I’ve decided to do it myself and support working families, especially those seeking term time only cover! All year care is offered.
My Experience
As a Mother of two and a teacher for over 25 years I was a children’s nanny for 11 years (with the same family), an English and Drama Teacher, a Deputy Head Teacher and a qualified Early Years Teacher (EYTS). I am also a qualified Early Years SENDCO and have a wealth of experience from birth to 13+ and would love to make your children feel part of the family while you are at work.

We absolutely love Lee and Monkey Nuts, she has created a wonderful learning and fun environment in a home setting. There aren't many people I trust to look after my daughter and we were looking at a larger nursery setting before we found Lee. From the moment I met her I knew we had found the perfect place.
Our daughter is extremely happy there and leaves with a smile on her face every day. We are kept up to date with all of their daily activities and progress made and all of the delicious home cooked meals prepared fresh every day.
We really couldn't have asked for a better placement. My husband said after meeting Lee for the first time, if we had been able to design our perfect childminder, Lee would still be better 😍
It is a huge relief having someone you trust and who clearly adores her job and the children, I could go on and on! Monkey Nuts is 5⭐

Monkey Nuts (MN) was the best decision we could have made for our little girl. She settled so quickly with Lee and she thoroughly enjoyed everything during her time at MN - from the delicious home cooked meals, to the playgroups and EYFS activities in the playroom.
Our daughter would always come out happy, smiling and full of stories from her time with Lee. MN is such a welcoming and inclusive environment - Lee always celebrates different festivals and tries to teach the children about each of their backgrounds to nurture a sense of self and to help embrace diversity. She even supported our other child through his SEN journey and we couldn’t be more thankful for her guidance over the past 2 years.
Our daughter was able to form strong bonds with her peers and now she’s ready for pre-school thanks to Lee’s unwavering encouragement and support.
Lee is kind-hearted and compassionate. She truly cares about working with families to get the best for their children. We couldn’t recommend her more, and are so glad to have had her in our children’s lives.

Lee at Monkey Nuts is just incredible. You can tell immediately that Lee loves her job. Our little girl absolutely thrived during her time at Monkey Nuts.
Lee has created a home from home setting, making it easy for littles ones to settle in. Surrounded by toys, books, activities and a wonderful garden
This is aswell as the children being taken out regularly to local play groups, park and libraries
We were so impressed by the many updates during the day, whether they be photos or notes of any activities or details of delicious meals provided by Lee.
We are so grateful for Lee and would recommend to anyone.

Thank you Sophie, it was such a pleasure to have both girls and I will miss their big smiles and cheeky little laughs. Luckily I get to watch them grow from a distance on the school runs now x
Lee was an incredible child minder to our two boys. She is naturally so caring, loving, patient, trust worthy and nurturing. We appreciated the time she took to cook healthy and varied meals, read with the boys, help them with homework and you also provided a fantastic range of toys and activities.
The extra effort she made for birthdays and other occasions was wonderful!
Highly recommended Ofsted outstanding childminder.

Thank you! It was especially heartwarming to see the work they both did with our therapy dog and the friendship they (and we!) still have.
Lee has been an absolute gem of a childminder for our little girl. She has taken care of her for over a year now (since before she turned 1) and we couldn't be happier with the personal touch that Monkey Nuts provides. Lee take real pride in her work, uses her creative flair to keep the childrens' days filled and pays real attention to every aspect of their care. Whether it's ensuring the little ones meet their EYFS goals or feeding them delicious homecooked meals, she and the lovely Granny Mackie (her mother and wonderful team member) make your child feel like they are truly part of the Monkey Nuts family. If you're looking for a home from home setting, look no further.

Lee’s care has been nothing short of exceptional for our son since starting in April 2022 (aged 1). From the outset, communication was clear and Lee supported us with getting set up with the various childcare arrangements. Our energetic son has been on many outings and enjoys every minute of his time at Monkey Nuts, with the various daily learning opportunities provided. Lee’s energy and enthusiasm really reflects across all areas of Monkey Nuts and we thoroughly recommend it!
