About Me
Hi my name is Katie and I live in Ifield west.
I have been caring for children for the last 25years. In February 2022 Ofsted graded me ‘outstanding’
I live with my husband our three children.
Our eldest daughter has just finished uni and is set to do a masters degree this coming year, my son is 19 and works for a local company and my youngest child is 12 and attends a local secondary.
We are a regular family, my husband works for metropolitan police. We have cats. They are all great with children.
We live in a large four bedroomed house with a nice sized secure garden as well as a large kitchen-dinning room-family room. We have a separate family living room for quiet time/sleeping.
I have worked with children for over 27yrs and I have been a childminder for many years caring for children of all ages, some with various special needs.
We are very lucky to live close to the mill pond and a number of parks and playgrounds. We love spending time outside and like to visit farms and parks. We love being outside and going for walks all year round.
We visit stay and play groups as well as rhyme time, soft play centres regularly throughout the week. We often meet with other childminders and their children.
I offer a fun, caring and stimulating home from home environment encouraging learning through activities both inside and outside.
The children very much enjoy things such as baking, art & crafts, messy play, dance & music and role play.
We also enjoy quiet time with story books and songs.
We enjoy growing seasonal fruits and vegetables in the garden.
My Experience
I have been a childminder for many years looking after children different ages some with varied special-needs as well caring for children with allergies and asthma. I have over 25yrs experience caring for children from birth to teens.

Graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Paediatric first aid certificate.

Full drivers license and own car.
Cache home based childcare Qualification.

I have attended a range of different courses such as learning through play and speech and language.
Courses i attend are on going to insure I keep up to date with new legislation and to extend my knowledge in order help aid children in their learning and development.

Katie is the best choice I ever made for my daughter. I sent her to Katie when she was 10 months old and my anxiety (as all mums feel) was through the roof! Katie put my mind as ease immediately due to the genuine family feeling she, her family and their home gave my daughter.
My daughter now climbs over the front door step and doesn’t even look back at me to say goodbye at drop off. Katie is professional, caring and her communication is second to none! She fills my daughter’s day with such fun and exciting activities and wonderful outings to sensory centres and other childminders so she socialises with other children. I really couldn’t ask for more!

My daughter has been looked after by Katie full time for the last three and a half years since she was six months old. She is a fantastic childminder and has an amazing rapport with all the children she cares for.
Everyday is a new day, Katie provides different activities on a daily basis, either home activities such as art or baking, educational activities and also regular visits to play centres, parks among many other outdoor activities.
I trust Katie implicitly looking after my daughter and feel very grateful she has had the opportunity to have Katie as her childminder. I honestly can not recommend Katie highly enough and your child will have the best experience and care should you choose Katie as your childminder.

My son has been going to katie for a number of months now and I can honestly say he has never been happier away from home. Katie works really hard to ensure the children always have different activities to do each day both around the home and outside. I receive pictures throughout the day of what my son is doing which always puts a smile on my face. I also have a contact book which Katie writes in daily to advise what he has done, eaten etc.
My son is truly treated as one of her own and katie always goes that extra mile to ensure he is always happy.

Katie is a kind, thoughtful, caring and very reliable childminder. Katie organises great activities and always tries to help at short notice. Katie cooks lovely meals that I sometimes wish she would do take out for parents! I would highly recommend her and an happily provide a reference if you wish.
