My Summary
About Me
I am a mother of 2 grown up children, my daughter has just finished at Bristol University with a First class degree in Mathematics. My son is 24.
I was born in Bristol.
I have lived with my family in St Werburghs for 26years.
I swim 5 times a week and cycle everywhere.
My Experience
I am now looking after a 10 week old baby, 3 days a week.
For the last year i have been looking after a 4 - 14 month old baby, 3 days a week.
Previous to that for 10 months i had been looking after a premature baby from when she was 4 1/2 months until she was 15 months old. This was 4 days a week. This was for a professional couple from Greece who work at Bristol University. I took their daughter on outings to the zoo, the farm, the park, toddler groups and the library every week. I took her to baby clinic for vaccinations and looked after her when she was ill. I made her homemade meals every day, bathed & dressed her and did her ironing.
I worked in the afterschool club at St Werburgh's Primary School for 3 years and finished in July 2014 because i needed a job with more hours.
I worked at St Werburghs Nursery as an SMSA for 11 years and was made redundant in July 2014
I studied for my NVQ Level 3 in childcare for a year at St Werburghs Nursery and got my qualification in May 2014
I was a Nanny to 3 children (including a newborn baby) in a private house before i had my own children and have always looked after other peoples children alongside my own.
I have experience with all age groups.
I love helping children to achieve their potential in all areas of their lives.

Judy was so lovely and she came to help me when I was suddenly very unwell. She came all the way to me last minute and it was so nice meeting her. She was very good with my 5 month old baby and so gentle and patient with my very clingy 2 year old (almost 3). When she was over I was able to get some much needed rest. My children never had anyone else but me or their dad look after them before so it was great seeing how my toddler warmed up to her so quickly. My only wish is that she lived closer!

A lovely family to work for.
I was welcomed into their home as a last minute emergency.
I wish them all the best in the future with their lovely children.
When my 1 year old didn't settle with a childminder Judy looked after her for three days a week until she could start nursery. Given she'd been so unhappy with a childminder I was apprehensive but Judy was great with her, kept her entertained and happy, took her to toddler activities and had no problems putting her down for naps, feeding her etc. She's clearly a natural with babies!

I loved working for this friendly, local family & i was sad when it was time to say good bye.
Their little girl settled into my care quickly & was a pleasure to care for.
We are still in contact with each other.
Judy was a Nanny for our son for 10 weeks in January to March 2021. He was aged 5-7 months in this time. Judy looked after him, fed him and played with him whilst we worked from home. We were grateful for her willingness to work during the lockdown and highly appreciated the precautions she took in her personal life to ensure all our safety. Our son quickly warmed to Judy who was kind, attentive and engaging. She played with him in developmentally appropriate ways and made him smile a lot! We highly recommend her services!

I loved every minute of working for this family during lock down.
I felt very much appreciated.
We all got along really well & i always looked forward to going into work.
I will miss them all dearly as they return to Nairobi.
Judy began working with us in September 2017 when I returned to my PhD study, and continued until December 2017. When she began my son was five months old and hadn't had previous childcare, so I was slightly nervous about how he would handle the change. However, Judy was very confident and capable with him, and he soon adjusted well. In addition to basic baby-care tasks (such as feeding, changing and giving him milk occasionally) Judy would sing and play with him, which he came to love. She also took the initiative to bring books, musical instruments and toys from her own home which offered a nice change for my son.
Overall Judy is very good with babies and I am incredibly grateful for her help during this time of big change. As well as being reliable and trustworthy, she was often flexible when necessary, which I appreciated, and was willing to pitch in occasionally to help with additional tasks, such as folding baby’s washing or sterilising his bottles. Whilst this was not part of her original contract, this made life much easier for me, and both my son and I came to look forward to her visits. She also has good knowledge of baby-related matters, and offered some invaluable advice and guidance around feeding and eating strategies. I highly recommend Judy to all families and wish her well in whatever she chooses to do next.
