My Summary

My Experience

I have experience as a full-time nanny, part-time nanny whilst in education and also as nanny cover. I have looked after ages from 3 months up to young teens on a professional level. Being a nanny has meant I have been the sole responsibility for babies and children while their parents have been at work, ensuring they have been fed, that they are occupied and happy. The role often involves making sure the children arrive to an activity on time (for me this has meant using public transport or walking). This highlights my ability of following instructions (often from their parents,
sometimes with really short-notice), my punctuality, reliability and being able to deal with situations as and when they arise. After a short period of time spent getting to know each other, myself and all the children I have looked after get on really well and have been able to understand each other’s wants, needs and boundaries.

My most recent nannying role in Newcastle involved picking the children up from school/nursery, sorting dinner for the children and often cooking meals for the parents too, whilst also making sure the children were happy and occupied. Some days me and the boys’ mum worked together as a team. Either me or their mum would take the children up for bath-time whilst the other tidied up the kitchen. I left after I had made the kitchen, living room and play room clean and tidy.

Since November, after moving back to London, I’ve been looking after two girls aged 5 and 3. I’m just beginning to think about what to do once this role will be changing to after school hours only. So just having a look to see!

I always do my best to give babies and children the attention and energy that they need and deserve.

• Nannying from £16.50 per hour (gross)
