Hello! My name is Renée and I’m an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Southbourne. I live with my partner and our three amazing children. I have been a childminder for over 15 years.
My childcare setting is situated on the ground floor of our family home and comprises of a large open-plan playroom, with colourful toys and activities, a kitchen area for cooking, baking and creative play, which leads out into a secure garden where we like to bug-hunt and grow vegetable and herbs, there is a variety of ride on toys, a wooden mud kitchen, play sand and water tables creating a very free flow learning environment for the children.
Our front room is a designated sleep/quiet room.
I provide a loving, nurturing, stimulating, safe and fun environment where children can grow and develop at their own pace.
I am a very calm and patient person who has a very positive outlook on life.
Some of the activities I do and provide for the children are things like trips to the local parks, soft play, beach (we have a beach hut so will often visit on cooler days too), feeding the ducks, drawing and painting, ball games, messy play, role play, free play and lots, lots more.
We visit Toddler Groups, the local libraries and our local Children's Centre. We regularly meet up with two other childminders and organise special, exciting trips for the children. This opportunity allows the children to have interaction with other children, which helps build on their confidence and social skills.
My childcare qualifications are regularly updated as required by Ofsted and I seek to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). My care also promotes healthy eating and exercise for children at every opportunity.

My Experience
I registered as a childminder in 2010. Before this I had previous experience of caring for children of all ages on a regular basis. I now currently care for my own 3 children and other children during the day in our family home.

Renee is fantastic. We needed someone to fill in for the school holidays as our other childminder is term-time only, and I was anxious about how our daughter (who is very strong willed, and clingy to me!), would cope with this transition. I needn't have worried. Renees approach is wonderful, and she was able to gain the trust (of our daughter) and develop a great rapport from the outset. She clearly has a passion for her job and really cares about the wellbeing of the children she looks after. She gets on their level, engages them with language and play that is appropriate to their age, laughs, comforts, and generally goes above and beyond, all with such a positive energy. Her home is lovely. Spacious and light, with plenty of toys and activities all organised and tidy. My daughter is often taken out to various toddler groups, parks and little parties with our other childminder so has plenty of opportunity to socialise with other children of different ages. Renee is very approachable and communication has been smooth and friendly. I love receiving the photo updates and appreciate the feedback.

My daughter was at Renee's one day a week for about 18 months. She loved her days at Renee's. It felt like a home from home for her and like she was part of the family. I was always completely comfortable that she would be safe and happy there. It was great to see photos of everything she got up to - painting, playdough, rhymes and games and lots of trips out. I would definitely recommend Renee to anyone.

Renee is a really professional childminder who has lots of experience with children. I felt really safe to leave my little one year old boy in her nice friendly and clean home. Renee is always happy and loves doing different activities especially going for walks at the beach or playing in parks. Renee is always reliable and organised.
My little boy never cried he always loved to spend time at Renee's for a fun time. I would highly recommend.

Renee has looked after my 6 year old son since he was 8 months old. It can be a confusing experience choosing childcare for your child but as soon as I met Renee in her lovely home I knew that I would feel comfortable and happy leaving our son with her. As a baby she looked after his every need (and he wasn't easy!!) ensuring that he had adequate opportunities for daytime sleeps, a variety of activities and delicious, healthy meals and snacks. She provided me with a written account of his day. He soon became part of the family as he was spending a couple of days a week there. As a toddler Renee took him to toddler groups, soft play, walks through fishermans walk and at hengistbury head, as well as regularly spending time at the beach. He had plenty of opportunity to grow in confidence socially. He is now at school but loves going back to spend time with Renee and her family in the holidays - it's a real treat!
