About Me
My name is Mandy and I have been a registered childminder with Ofsted since 20 October 2008. I have 4 children of my own
aged 17, 19 and 33 years old.
I worked for British Gas for 21 years before resigning to become a full time mum for the girls.
I have public liability insurance with the NCMA (which I am also a member of) and have had CRB checks done on everyone living here over the age of 16 years.
I provide a welcoming, safe, friendly and loving environment where children can enjoy themselves, grow in confidence and are able to reach their full potential. I follow the EYFS and promote learning through play and activities. Each child has their own development file based on observations which allows me to plan for play using their own individual interests as a guide.
The setting has a playroom with toys ranging from birth onwards, although they can wander from room to room on the ground floor. There is an enclosed garden to the rear of the property which comprises of some slides, playhouse, seesaw, sand and water play and outdoor ride ons. I go to my local childminding groups and playgroups, library, soft play areas and the local parks.
I have recently been graded as 'good' by Ofsted.
My Experience
My experience has been mainly in the upbringing of my own 4 children. I now have 15 years of childminding experience, plus 30 years with my own children. I have an understanding of asthma as both my boys were diagnosed at the aged of 8 months and child allergies.
I have been a joint playgroup leader in the past.
My Qualifications
This is mainly based on experience of bringing up my own children and the children I look after. I attend courses whenever possible to keep updated with the latest information.
I am also trained in paediatric first aid.
References are available from past and present parents who have used my service, upon request.
My Availability
I work from 7.30 - 5.00 Monday to Thursday. I will be available for 47/48 weeks of the year so parents can maintain their work/home life balance without looking for additional childcare. Notice for holidays is generally given with 1/2 months notice.

I offer the 15 hour free funding (if your child is eligible) from 9 months old onwards (including 2 year funding)along with 3/4 year old free 15-30 hour funding. Please note funding is offered term time only. My hourly rate will be applicable if you need school holidays. If you need a space in September 24, you will need to have obtained your funding code before the end of August 24.
I currently have no availability before or after school places for Manston St James which is based on Sandbed Lane LS15. I will have 1 space on a Monday for the early years sector (0-4 years)from April 25.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My hourly rate will be discussed upon contact. The amount will include all snacks, drinks and lunches, which will include some healthy options. I accept childcare vouchers as payment and have registered with the latest government scheme that helps towards payment your fees. Parents will be asked to provide nappies, wipes and a spare set of clothes. A charge of my full normal hourly rate will be made if parents take holiday or your child is sick. No charge applies if I am on holiday or my children/myself are sick. I take annual leave 4/5 weeks of the year mainly in school holidays but occasionally take a week off in term time.
