My Summary

My Experience

I am a fully qualified Childcare practitioner with 12 years experience in childcare, 8 of those years being in a private nursery setting and out of school clubs. I love working with children and helping them grow and develop and helping them meet their developmental milestones. I also have plenty of experience working with children with complex care needs, learning difficulties, English as an additional language and children with special educational needs, such as Autism.

I have a level 2 and 3 diploma in Children and Young People's workforce, a level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and a certificate in safeguarding children and young people. I am paediatric first aid trained and hold a current DBS check. I also have all the relevant childcare training and certificates such as Prevent Duty, FGM, Safeguarding, Child protection, Appropriate Touching, Blossoming Babies, Baby Brain Development, Manual Handling and Food Safety and Hygiene etc.

I previously worked a small number of hours a week with a disabled female which I thoroughly enjoyed and became part of her family. I assisted her with day to day activities such as writing emails, feeding and dressing. I also assisted her on day trips to places such as the cinema, restaurants, bowling etc. I loved the fact that I was improving her quality of life and was offering her the support she needed to develop, socialise and thrive.

I am very familiar with the EYFS framework and policies and procedures that are vital in working with children such as safeguarding etc. I have extensive experience in tracking a child’s development and taking observations and planning out next steps for a child’s learning. I am familiar with age appropriate activities and different kinds of fun activities for children such as different kinds of sensory and messy play.

I have a very friendly and warm nature. I have very good communication skills, organisational skills and a very good sense of timekeeping. I am a very calm, kind and caring person and will do anything I can to help people out.
