My Summary
About Me
We are a mother and daughter team currently working towards our Forest School accreditation and the Forest School philosophy is integral to our setting. We are both ex teachers providing early years nurture through nature and holistic approaches to childcare.
We work from my home in Archway. The main play areas in the house are a large living room and the garden. In the garden we have a summer house that the children have as their playroom. Here we do lots of messy play, painting/creative activities and there’s also 2 mud kitchens in the garden. We also have a smaller sitting room which we use for story time and whenever the children want to be in a quieter room.
Your child will spend a large part of their day outside in an environment full of ever changing stimuli. We believe that nature provides excellent opportunities for play, exploration and talk, contact with the natural world and experience of community. From watching tiny creatures in the soil, making things with sticks, leaves and mud, to building dens, the children experience a wonderful sense of freedom.
For the very young children in our group the main focus is on their sensory and physical development. We believe our setting provides a great balance between the freedom to explore outside and time to feel a little cosier in the home. Children have access to a wide range of free play activities in the afternoon alongside the opportunity to relax if needed.
We offer healthy, nutritious home cooked food which is prepared by us daily. Wherever possible all our food is organic and our daily meal plan caters for all dietary needs. We love to develop meals that the children are interested in and we encourage all the children to make healthy choices.
If you would like any further information, please contact us and we will be very happy to answer your questions.
