About Me

I am a friendly, positive and understanding individual with an enthusiastic personality.
Supporting children is my main interest, ensuring that they have the independence,
confidence and skills needed to help them through childhood and adulthood by
demonstrating and allowing children to learn through experiences. Using active listening
skills and role modelling to support children to understand and express their thoughts,
emotions and needs. I have a passion for understanding people, so caring for their needs,
and expanding their knowledge is something I take great pride with.
My role requires keeping the children safe, planning for their needs, encouraging them to
learn using their own initiative to solve problems, unless help is needed. I take pride in
teaching children how to become ready for school, this involves activities such as eating
correctly, being independent, toilet training, social and emotional awareness, literacy skill
such as the correct phonics for their chosen schools. I enjoy exploring a variety of fun and
meaningful activities indoors where we incorporate mathematics, outdoors and topics with
children based on their interest.
Previous experiences have provided me with the opportunity to improve my
communication skills and has greatly increased my confidence interacting and building
rapport with people of all ages. Past opportunities have enabled me to demonstrate an
aptitude to treat everyone fairly and remain impartial, regarding disabilities and a variety of
cultural, social and religious backgrounds which allows me to provide equal opportunities.
Currently, I work alongside people with many different needs and abilities. Working with a
mixture of social and cultural backgrounds has helped me gain greater knowledge which
allows me to understand others and sympathise in certain situations.
I've learned to remain calm in difficult situations, to assess and deal with problems quickly
and efficiently.
I have frequently had to deal with situations that required an immediate and diplomatic
resolution such as, safeguarding issues, accidents and child wellbeing. Through my
experiences I have gained more professionalism, better organisation skills and time
keeping which help me with day-to-day tasks.
