About Me
I’m an Ofsted registered childminder in the beautiful market town of Dorking, Surrey, where I live with my husband and our 3 children. I was inspected by Ofsted in October 2023 and they rated me as an OUTSTANDING childminder. I want the children who come to me to feel secure, be happy and healthy, and to enjoy the fun experiences that I offer.
I work from my home, which is only a few minutes’ walk away from Meadowbank Park with its duck pond, playing fields, fabulous play areas, cafe and soft play. Dorking town centre is on our doorstep and we take advantage of the groups, library, shops and other amenities nearby. Our position in the Surrey Hills means that we are able to spend lots of time outdoors in the fresh air, exploring the local woods and nature trails, as well as National Trust properties, BOx Hill, Denbies, RHS Wisley, Bocketts Farm and other excellent local places to visit. We especially love it when it's been raining and we can hunt out giant puddles to splash in, or when we search for conkers and other treasures in the Autumn. We have great adventures whatever the weather, and love spending time with other childminders where we become firm friends with the other children.
I have a large, bright playroom with a comfy snug area for cuddling up with a story, and an open-plan kitchen diner, in which children can enjoy healthy, home-cooked food. The extensive selection of toys and resources in my home cater for the interests and development of all children, including plenty of natural items and real life objects to inspire their imagination and curiosity. Our good-sized garden is a great space to play and learn. We love planting flowers and vegetables in the Springtime, taking books outside to read on a warm day and getting messy with mud and sand play, paint, water and other fun activities. I am a great believer in letting children experience the wonder of childhood - my aim is for them to have fun, take risks, be confident, laugh, get messy, be inspired and grow to be capable, achieving little people, ready to take on the next challenge.
My Experience
I have 3 children of my own (born 2011, 2013 and 2016) and have been a registered childminder since September 2015.
My Qualifications
I have completed Surrey County Council’s Childminding Introduction programme and hold a paediatric first aid certificate, as well as full DBS checks for myself and my husband, and Public Liability Insurance. I undertake constant CPD, including Safeguarding, and training opportunities to enhance my knowledge and provision of quality childcare.
Before having my children, I worked in a number of different areas, training first as a journalist and then a Chartered Accountant. When the children were smaller, I owned a wedding and celebration cake business, and baking is a favourite rainy day pastime of ours!
My Availability
I work term time only in line with the dates of St Martins School, Dorking, and am currently full. Spaces available from September 2026.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
I offer funded hours for all eligible age groups of children. Note that for 3-4 year olds, additional fees are charged as allowed (since the government do not pay us our full charge out rate when they advertise 'free' childcare).
