About Me

Hi! I am Yasmine...
I am a confident, organised and friendly 32 year old.
I am looking for a potential permanent but part time nanny job, depending on if the right hours and position comes up.
I have a 1 year old daughter who is in nursery 4 days a week.
I am currently employed part time.

Please read my profile below!
I look forward to hearing from you :) I am happy to chat!

My Experience

I am a confident and friendly child carer with a wide range of experience which spans over 10 years in different settings and backgrounds.

These include; being a Party Host at a bowling alley, placements in schools and day nurseries with a wide range of aged children whilst studying for my BTEC Level 3 in Childcare in which I qualified with a Triple Distinction.

Once qualified I was a Teaching Assistant for 3 years in a First School working with Years 2 - 4 where I had the opportunity to be able to help children with their speech and language skills as well as training as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant where I helped children with behavioural, emotional, self-esteem issues and I thoroughly enjoyed supporting these children. I also helped run Breakfast/Lunch Club and my own After School clubs.

I embarked on an adventure as a Crèche Nanny, in the French Alps during the winter of 2014/2015 which was a fantastic opportunity to work and care with children of varied ages from different backgrounds each week and gaining more life experience and independence!

Once back in the UK I was a sole charge Nanny where I had the pleasure of looking after 2 families, children's ages ranged from 9 months – 7 years. Being a Nanny has shown me that I thoroughly enjoy caring for, educating, emotionally and creatively stimulating and supporting babies and children up to 12 years old not only in a group setting but also on a one to one basis. I also volunteered as a crèche helper once a week, for mothers who have post-natal depression, where they will had a group session whilst we looked after their little ones.

Once the children became of school age I went onto being a Learning Team Assistant in a Special School for pupils in KS1 & 2 who have a statement of special educational needs or education health care plan for their social, emotional and mental health difficulties. I was in a Nurture Group class where the main focus was helping children to build positive relationships; a small class, play and routine help these children to achieve success. It was a rewarding, yet challenging role which has shown me why routine and consistency is key.

I then became a Nanny again, where I looked after a girl of 2 years and helped the Mum look after her newborn baby brother. They moved away after 6 months into the role and so I found another family where the girl was 10 months old when I started and was just over 2 when I left as I was sadly made redundant.

I relocated to North Devon from Berkshire where I started an Early Years Practitioner role in a Nursery. The Nursery had a focus on the Reggio Emilia Approach which is all about the environment being the teacher and is very child-led play. I created activities within the nursery, supervised and extended play/learning. I was the key adult to 4 children whom I was first point of contact for and updated the EYFS files for. I also looked at the EYFS on a larger scale within the nursery. I was sadly made redundant due to the pandemic in this nursery role and another one after. Since then I have been a TA in a school again and I am now a Children's Support Worker working with children and their families, through a charity, which is a full time role.

In my current role I have the privilege of supporting families and children within the children centre’s through different interventions and 1:1 work, with a great team. It is a very fulfilling and at times challenging role due to the vulnerabilities some of the families face – trauma, domestic violence, finances, housing needs, additional needs/disabilities, mental health etc. I am a friendly face and supportive team member for children, young people, their families and carers who use the Early Help and other services; as well as for my colleagues. I provide information, methods and techniques through interventions, activities and a creche to help them both children and parents/carers thrive and be the best that they can be.

Currently we are transitioning from being Children's Centres into Family Hubs where we are now working universally with families from 0-19 years (25 with SEND). We are connecting with the local community and delivering needs leds support via workshops, play sessions/events and groups. I contact parents regarding their ‘Request for Contact’ forms whilst on 'Duty'. I also support families via the Single Session Approach which helps empower them to make change in one main focused area of their choice eg. mental health or children's behaviour.

I have fantastic organisational skills, which I have displayed throughout my career as a child carer. When I was a Party Host I had to strictly abide to time slots so I didn’t get behind throughout the day. In my Nanning role I have to follow the children’s routines so they get the most out of their day.

I have great knowledge of how children learn; I know that learning through play is vital at an early stage of development and/or if children have certain needs and letting the child choose the activities that they would prefer is best for their learning. I am good at using my initiative, I have shown this through dealing with various issues and situations in many roles and gaining experience of children’s individual needs and how to attend to them. I have had experience with challenging behaviour, where I have learnt appropriate methods of discipline and how to remain calm and patient. I have learnt positive methods such as praising which have been appropriate to the age and stage of the child.

I love seeing the positive effects that my activities and caring nature has on the children I work with. I have plenty of energy and I am constantly enthusiastic when in a classroom setting or with a child one to one. In all of my roles I have built up good relationships with adults and children and settled into the environment quickly and well. I have a high expectation of myself and I am always willing to improve and take constructive criticism when necessary to continue my learning. I am committed to the needs of every child that I work with.

I look forward to hearing from you :)

Yasmine has been our nanny for just over a year and is simply wonderful with our daughter. She’s always thinking about how to make things fun and interactive. She is the right balance of patient and firm as our daughter is now hitting the terrible twos. She gives us daily updates on all the activities Lily has done as well as her food, drinks and toilet outings through worksheets she’s designed herself. She’s become an integral part of our family and couldn’t thank her enough for all her hard work. She’s a joy to have around and would highly recommend her!!
