About Me
Hi my name is Annette and I work with my Husband Tony,who is also an Ofsted Registered childminder and two qualified assistants.
Offering home from home childcare
We attend age appropriate groups and activity centres,
take the children on outings and visits, and we provide stimulating
play equipment and toys both inside and outside the home, covering all areas of early learning, expression and development.
We live in close proximity to the river and local parks, so the children have ample opportunity to explore the local environment and facilities.
Working together we can offer different skills and interests that will help your child learn,develop and enjoy..plus a sprinkling of routine activities, schools collections and drop offs.
We provide a warm, welcoming and secure setting offering
love, security and lots of fun.
We are happy to provide breakfast and lunch for your child(ren)
My Experience
We have 3 children of our own born 1994,1996 and 2007 and 5 grandchildren 3 granddaughters born 2012/ 2021/2023 and 2 grandson born 2019/2023
We have been childminding for a number of years and have experience
with children in a variety of age groups and of varying needs.
We have both worked in the scouting movement and Tony was an
assistant scout leader with a local group.
All qualifications, portfolio and references available.
My Qualifications
We hold all relevant childminding qualification's
and attended regular training.
I have a Diploma in home based childcare
NVQ level 3 in children's care learning and development
and a list of other childcare related qualifications.
Tony has also completed a 'CHIP 'course - Surrey's qualification in childcare and a level 3 Diploma - Children and young peoples workforce
level 4 in supporting disabled children and children with special requirement's.
We are members of the childminding network and I have completed a Quality improvement award we are both accredited to receive the early years free entitlement.
Our Assistants are fully qualified and both have a wealth of experience in the childcare field
Full trained Dbs. checked and references obtained
Tony and I have both been awarded 'Outstanding' in our individual Ofsted inspections. (2008/2009 2014/2015 2016/2017. 2019/2020)
We are all first aid trained and fully insured

Our son joined almost a year ago and he thoroughly loves going every day. He has grown and developed so much under their care and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.
Every day is varied and full of creativity, indoor and outdoor play as well as trips out. Our son enjoys playing with the other children and is smiling in every photo we are sent.
I feel relaxed dropping him off each morning and look forward to the array of work he comes home with each week.
I couldn’t recommend Tony and Annette enough - they are incredible!

We love caring for him x
I first talked with Annette just before our son was born. From our first meeting we knew straightaway they were the right place for us. Our son then started Annette and Tony when he was 7 months old. This was an anxious time for me, especially since he was so young.
Knowing that he was so happy there really set my mind at ease. I could see his smiles and he was happy to go to them.
The setting really is a home away from home. This is exactly what I wanted rather than a big, noisy nursery. They are so relaxed and easy going, which suits our son’s temperament.
They really put so much effort into all their activities, crafts, playing and learning. Our son is truly thriving under their care. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to anyone who wants a fantastic care setting for their child.

My son first started with Annette, Tony and Katie at their lovely setting just after his first birthday when I went back to work after my maternity leave. I was understandably a little nervous as the whole system was new to me, however Annette put me at such ease from day one and I’ve never doubted my choice in childminders.
The setting is a lovely home from home environment, providing plenty of indoor and outdoor space for my child. Every few weeks there’s an updated theme from which the children focus their learning, from Christmas to spring, dinosaurs to cafes, and the children often to related craft and baking activities.
My son has shown unbelievable development all round, he speech and understanding has progressed massively, as well as his general manors and confidence around other children and adults.
Annette and Tony have had no issues with my son napping or eating well at their home, we’ve never had any problems at all on either of these fronts. They provide high quality meals, and have the children all eat together in a family style environment, which is just lovely to see.
I receive daily photos and updates on what the children are doing so I’m always kept in the loop and have no doubt that my son is loving every moment!
I’m currently on maternity leave no 2 so my son is back with me for the next year, however I will have no hesitation sending both of my children back to this lovely setting when I return to work again!

Our Son has been at Annette and Tony's for 4 years this September.
As our review title says, a "home from home" is what Annette and Tony's is.
Our Son was a quiet and sometimes a shy little boy when he started but after a little while that soon changed, since he has been at Annette and Tony's he has come on leaps and bounds and has become a confident, well mannered and independent young man.
The setting is excellent, they study different themes across the year IE Seasons, Cultures, Food and Animals either inside or in the well equipped garden space.
The food menu is varied daily, cooked fresh and the children do have options to choose from.
We love the fact that they get the children out and about on excursions regularly throughout the year to various places.
Annette and Tony have been very flexible when needed and always available for advice.
Everything our Son does, learns, eats is updated on baby days regularly with photos.
Our son is very happy there and often comes home with crafts and paintings reminding him of the day he has had.
Also our son has made many friends there and is complete set up and ready to start school this September.
We 100% trust Annette and Tony and would recommend them to anyone 100% also.

We were recommended Annette and Tony's childcare by two different people, a colleague who had used them and another local childminder. We were looking for that magical combination of a childminders with enough other children to develop social skills and confidence but also personal and focused care with a variety of activities and learning opportunities. And to our delight, we found it all and more with Annette and Tony!
Our son has been with them for nearly a year now. The children and their childcare setting is truely their passion and the care they provide for our son, and us as his parents, is remarkable. They go the extra mile with everything and above and beyond what we could have imagined. They plan each week around a new theme and book: the daily activities, outings and food all reflect the theme. We get goodies and crafts sent home all week, often delicious home baked goods! They take the children out on lots of different excursions and to different play groups and their home and garden is perfectly set up with multiple play/activity areas. They update us daily on an app with pictures and info and their communication, planning and paperwork is excellent.
They've been flexible with our needs, always reassuring and really helped to ease me into going back to work and my son to settle into his new environment - everyday I pick him up he is smiling and so happy. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Annette and Tony have been looking after my two boys for over a year, and I couldn't ask for better childminders.
As any parent, I was hesitant about returning to work and leaving my children in the care of another, however from the first meeting with Annette and Tony any concerns were dispersed.
In the past year my boys have come on leaps and bounds and it is really noticeable that Annette and Tony care deeply for what they do and spend the time to tailor each activity to the individual child.
Every day the boys come home excited to tell me what they have been up to, and keen to show me everything they have made!
It is clear the care they are given is second to none, Annette and Tony are first class at what they do, and my children couldnt be happier.

Going back to work was a really nerve wracking experience for me but even on our first visit to Annette and Tony they put both me and my husband at ease and my daughter fell asleep in Tony's arms which proved how relaxed she was.
She has been there for a year now and I am still so amazed at how fantastic they are. Always willing to provide guidance and any advice and also provide so much interaction with the children in their care, regularly changing themes on what they are doing with the children. We have had tiger who comes to tea, hospitals, oceans and so many more.
I never worry about my daughter when she is there. They keep you updated on what is going on and my little girl is so happy.
She comes home daily with crafts that she has made and they always go that extra mile for special occasions.
If you get a chance to have Annette and Tony as your childminders, grab it.

The Vales go above and beyond to make sure that your child is happy, healthy and developing into a well rounded little individual ready for school. Their setting is a wonderful balance between professional excellence and a warm personalised home environment. We are so grateful to have found this setting for our daughter who has Down's syndrome. She started going to Annette and Tony's when she was 1 years old. She loves going 3 times a week and we know that they have been key to how well she is developing. She is set to start mainstream school next year. I can't recommend them enough.

My son is going to Annette and Tony since 10 months age, he is 3,5 years old now and I can't remember a day, when I was worried about anything leaving him with them.
They have done everything to ensure their house is a perfect fun and safe place for kids to play. They are truly dedicated to their work and to the little ones.
There are plenty of groups and outdoor activities they visit and loads of crafts they make at home. Kids are never left to entertain themselves and they enjoy playing together with Tony and Annette. Their opening hours are wonderful for full-time working parents as well.
This is a very short review, but I can't recommend them enough - they are wonderful and caring people, who I trust 100%.

My first son has been going to Annette and Tony's for almost two years and my second son will be joining him when I go back to work.
Annette and Tony are both absolutely dedicated to the children in their care. They provide a warm, loving, fun atmosphere where the children enjoy playing and learning. I have watched my son thrive in this environment.
Their home is totally adapted for the children's use, from a cleverly designed back garden with play houses to the large kitchen table which allows the children to sit and eat or make craft together.
Annette and Tony put so much thought into activities and outings to ensure the children get the most out of their time there. Each month is planned with a theme to bring activities together. Regular updates and photos keep the parents well informed as well as the craft and baking that regularly comes home.
My son has made some wonderful friends and enjoys each day he spends there. I have never had any doubts about the care he receives and am absolutely confident leaving my children there. I feel really lucky to have been recommended such wonderful people.
