About Me

Hi my name is Kate,

I am dedicated childcare professional with 16 years experience of building lasting relationship with families build on trust, respect and honesty. I believe children need happy and stable environment where they can develop their potential. For me, as nanny, is important that children I look after know that Im there for them while their parents are at work, but also for the parents to know that I am not trying to replace them. I always try to make the transition as easy as possible for all involved.

With children I am friendly, warm and patient, yet firm when need to. I don't like to have 'strict' relationship with them, I rather build relationship based on trust and friendship where they know where the boundaries are and what is acceptable and what is not- child's safety always comes first.

I like to get messy with them as I believe they need to have the space to explore and what is the better way to do it then to show them. I like activities as painting (not that I am any good at it, but it doesnt stop me) and crafts, cooking/baking, visiting libraries, parks, groups, day trips, etc. I am able to plan activities that are age appropriate, develop their learning in different subjects and I always consider interests of the children.

I encourage children to be polite and use their maners. I have experience with supporting smaller children with potty training and other self-care activities like dressing up, eating alone or basic hygienic habits.

I am able to prepare fresh nutritious meals which I can adapt for childs requiremnts and needs. I also enjoy banking, and bake children's novelty cakes and bread and other things using sourdough.

I am happy to set up and keep updating a journal (in form of book with pictures and notes) for each child, which will reflect on activities/trips or special moments. It is something the child can look back at in years to come, but I also think it is beneficial for parents to look at and see what their little one been up to.

I can also keep day to day log for keeping truck of meal times/naps/etc.

In my free time I like to read a book, listen to music or watch a movie. I love to travel, visit new places and meet new people. From the sports I enjoy skiing, swimming.
