Karen Barkha: Childminder

Karen was an absolutely fantastic childminder to our 11 month old son James, and quickly built a strong and trusting rapport. She is incredibly talented with children and her years of experience shine through. Not only did she mind James brilliantly, being so attentive to his needs, but she also developed his social, physical and communication skills. He came on leaps and bounds under her care. She was incredibly reliable and I couldn’t recommend her any more highly.

Excellent Tutor

Our daughters in Years 1 and 3 are both really enjoying their 1-1 tuition sessions with Karen. She keeps them engaged with a wide variety of games and activities and they look forward to their weekly lessons in maths and English. She tailors each lesson to their specific needs, gives homework based on what they have covered during class, and regular feedback to update us on their progress. Our younger daughter's phonics and reading skills have really improved over the past 3 months and our older daughter has grown in confidence due to Karen's patient understanding of her needs.

Nanny

Karen is a kind, loving and gentle nanny. She is highly experienced within early years which I found invaluable help with my 3 year old and 8 month old.

I hired Karen to be a part time support, to help with nursery drop offs, take the children out for walks and general childcare duties in the house. She also helped us abroad for a week last summer when we went away.

Karen made me feel completely comfortable leaving my baby with her, who was often a little uncomfortable with reflux in the beginning. Her communication skills and language skills were excellent for our toddler as she understands 'how' to speak to children of this age in an appropriate way to help them developmentally. She is patient and genuinely cares about the children she works with.

She is extremely reliable and punctual and over the year she spent with us she has never let us down.

Not only is she amazing with the kids, she is a great support to any mum, very hands on and experienced.

We were sad to see her go and know she will be an asset to any family lucky enough to have her.

Tutor

Karen is professional, organised and approachable. She has really engaged with my son who has autism and he always enjoys his time with her. His reading and writing have progressed hugely since she has been tutoring him as has his confidence in his own abilities. She has always shown great patience and understanding towards him and tailors each lesson to fit him. I would have no hesitation in recommending Karen.
