About Me

I am a caring and well-mannered nanny, maternity practitioner, and infant sleep coach. I am the mum of a lovely 1 year old girl, too.
I have a responsible, mature and professional way of caring for children of all ages and varying temperaments. I have a great deal of experience and interest in children.
I love following the growth of babies and toddlers, giving my best in being responsible of the early years development. I support them in exploring the world, learning to participate in and control social interactions, encouraging language, enjoying the physical activity that comes from their mobility in the environment, through playing both indoors and outdoors, reading stories, singing and dancing, baby gym activities, but also participating to group activities and classes. I love playing board games with the schoolers, especially strategy games, helping them to boost their inventive and problem solving skills. I love to cooking and to baking, and I like to involve the children in simple tasks.

I am responsible for all the educational activities of the children I look after, and I am asked to be prepared about the school programs, therefore I have a general knowledge of the National Curriculum in England. I supervise children’s homework, I organise additional afternoon work for them (e.g. maths papers, challenging reading books, phonics exercises, summary of stories), and I prepare them for school assessments, ensuring the children follow a routine that allows for homework and educational activities, teaching specialised science subjects and Italian language (when possible), ensuring the children's timetable is adequate and allows for the day to run smoothly, encouraging the children to behave appropriately and complete their studies, liaising with parents and school regarding objectives, progress and development. Moreover, I promote children's educational, social and creative development, organising outside activities such as educational outings, museums, art galleries, and sporting activities, supporting, spurring and correcting them during their lessons.

I am a geologist, graduated from Siena University in Italy with a degree in “Geological Science” and recently graduated from University College London, with a MSc degree in “Geoscience”, where I specialised in micro-palaeontology and palaeoceanographist and where I am still involved in micro-paleontological research, on volunteering basis.
After my graduation from Siena University, I worked with children in a Museum of Palaeontology. My responsibilities mainly included the organisation of educational activities for children of different ages regarding geological matters.

I am a very active and well organised person, able in creating schedules, prioritising tasks, following commitments and maintaining routines. I listen carefully and follow direction well, always looking for new and innovative ideas to bring to an activity. I am confident and imaginative with constructive play and age appropriate activities and I have very creative ideas to keep children occupied . I am able to help children be well-behaved and motivate them with stimulating activities that encourage early learning.
I am able to work to an excellent standard under considerable pressure whilst presenting a positive image to others. I am a patient and affectionate person, able to develop close relationships with children and their families.

I am looking for a challenging position within a responsible employer where I will be able to continue to increase my work experience and develop my abilities.

My Experience

I have great deal of experience and interest in children. I have been working with them since 2003, when the first of my nieces and nephews was born, and I was a babysitter during High school and University. Furthermore, I am a palaeontologist, graduated from University College London, and I also worked with children as a museum operator in didactic works regarding geological matters. I have proved experience in doing imaginative arts and crafts activities. I am Italian but I speak English, good French and basic German.
I have been living in London for about 10 years and I was employed as both live-in and live-out nanny in very busy families, caring for children of all ages (newborn to 12 years old) and varying temperaments. All my employers were very happy with my work and they are available to provide a reference letter if needed.
