Hi my name is Debbie Haslam and I am an Ofsted registered childminder.
I have been working as a childminder since 1988. My home has a fully enclosed and secured rear garden with space and outdoor toys for the children to play with.
For the children I plan regular outings to local playgroups, parks and jungle jims, including seasonal visits to the zoo and to see Father Christmas. A variety of other activities such as colouring are also conducted during the daytime. I regularly meet with three other childminders, allowing the children to develop new relationships. This enables them to interact into a wider group of friends.
My Experience
Before having my own children, I worked as a private nanny for a family with three children, one of which had profound special needs. I developed a good relationship with them and still remain in contact with the family.
Following this I had my own two daughters (both of whom have graduated from university with excellent grades) and set up my childminding business when they were young. Through this I have gained 17 years' worth of experience working with children of all ages from birth onwards, making me both accustomed to and capable of working with a diverse range of needs.

My Availability
I have both full and part time vacancies for babies, toddlers and children of school age. Depending on location, I am also able to pick up and drop off children to your own home.

Debbie is our fairy godmother!
After a terrible experience of sending my daughter to nursery where she was so distressed she wouldn't eat or drink anything there, I really didn't know what I was going to do. She's super clingy and I was told by the nursery that it wasn't the place for her.
I am so glad I found Debbie after that. She was so suppprtive and really listened to all the concerns I had. We settled my daughter in with Debbie slowly and gently and now Debbie is one of her favourite people! My daughter absolutely loves going there. She is so happy when I drop her off and I love seeing the pictures and videos Debbie sends me during the day of her playing.
I honestly don't know what I would have done without Debbie and I can't thank her enough!
I would recommend her to absolutely anyone, she's an incredible childminder!

Debbie has been looking after my son for almost a year now and I couldn't imagine a better place or nicer person to leave him with.
When looking for a childminder having a home from home and a motherly/nan person was important to me as I wanted my son to feel the love and care he would at home and this is exactly what we get with Debbie, she treats the children like her own and always there to give them a cuddle, time to play and always interacting. Stanley has developed so much in confidence and is always smiling and chatting about his Deb Deb!
She works with each child and makes sure they are always happy, safe and most of all having fun!
Everyday she is taking the kids out to relevant playgroups and softplays that they enjoy and gives them the social skills.

Debbie is a great childminder and has looked after my daughter Tia since she was 14 months old. After nearly 5 years with Debbie I would highly recommend Debbie to parents that need reliable and fun childcare they can trust.

Elise loved spending time with Debbie, she was flexible and always welcoming. She regularly sent me pictures and updates of my daughters progress and activities they had been up to throughout the week. I'd highly recommend Debbie and thank her for her great service! Elise has missed Debbie loads since staring school.

Putting my baby in with Debbie at 8 months turned out to be the best thing I could have done for both of us. As soon as we met Debbie I was really impressed and happy with how quickly she interacted with Charlie and how quickly he responded. I felt genuine warmth and consideration from her when discussing requirements and needs from the very start.
I get regular photos and updates as to how he’s getting on throughout the day and the activities/groups he’s been involved in together with a good handover when I go to collect him and some really good advice when I’ve mentioned things relating to health or development that I’ve not been too sure about. He has grown in confidence through the social interaction he experiences with the other children in Debbie’s care and I have seen some really positive changes in him over all relating to speech and development, he generally babbles the whole way home!
As for Debbie herself, she is flexible, trustworthy and genuine, she provides an inviting home environment with lots of toys and space for playing. As the months have gone by I can see that Debbie doesn’t just care for my little boy but very genuinely cares about him which has been so important to his development and my confidence in leaving him. I’ve no doubt he feels happy and secure with her and is looked after as if he was a member of her own family.
I wouldn’t think twice about recommending Debbie to anyone.
