About Me

Dear Families,

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read my CV.

In 2021, I completed my BA (Hons) in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies degree. I now work in a school, since January 2023, that provide education for students who are d/Deaf and/or have Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

I've been working in the school, as a teaching assistant, however I have changed departments within the school and now work as an Occupational Therapy Assistant - helping d/Deaf and hearing students work on targets on a skill that they would like to achieve independently. Some examples include tying shoelaces, fasting up their buttons, going to the shops independently, riding a bike.

This is also integrated with different therapeutic strategies to help students understand and regulate their emotions and feelings.

Caring for children brings me a different type of happiness. Their pure minds and adorable (sometimes hilarious) perspectives on life genuinely warms my heart and I truly believe that children really can teach you invaluable life lessons! Consequently, caring for children is my gentle reminder to bring myself back down to earth and not take life too seriously. So now I will tell you a little bit more about myself…

I am a highly determined, committed and reliable lady who has an unconditional love for all children and truly takes pleasure in being part of a child's life. I have often been described by many people, including the families that I have worked for, as “bubbly” and having a calm nature with a warm personality, therefore being very easy to get along with.

In addition, I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the children under my care and I will always consider the interests, needs and stage of development of each child in my care. This means that I am always ready to adapt to change, as I recognise and respect that each family has their own requirements, and each child is an individual with their own personal needs. As a result, I will use this information to plan a challenging and enjoyable experience for each child under my care.

Lastly, I will always be extremely respectful of your house rules, decisions and practices and together with the right communication, I am certain that we will be able to build a genuine and positive relationship. As a consequence, I will always work to the best of my abilities so that I can create the best possible experience for your child and provide a smile on their face every single day!
