About Me

I am an ofsted Registered childminder and am a qualified level 3 Early Years Practitioner, with over 15 years experience working with 0-5 year olds. I have 3 children of my own, ages 12, 10 and 4 years old.
I have my partner working alongside me as an assistant, and we provide a loving and caring home from home setting for children to explore and thrive in.
I am based in Tilehurst, after living and working in the east reading area. My older children still go to school in that area, and we use that area for lots of groups and outings throughout the week.
I have an open plan living/dinning room area, with a playroom for the children to play in, and a garden outside to enjoy. The garden has different ride on toys, climbing frame with slide and other activities to participate in daily with.
I am located within walking distance to local play parks which we visit regularly.
I have regular meet ups with other childminders and visit different play groups, libraries, farms etc.
I have a good network of childminders that I work alongside with regularly. This enables the children to build good friendships with a large group of children, of mixed ages, as well as with the other children in my care.
We often do planned focused activies together, and have a few big trips out in a large group.
I believe that children learn best through play, and put this into practise daily. I encourage choice and child participation in what activities we do throughout the week. I plan around each child's interests and individual needs, and ensure i have resources to choose from which enhance the childs learning.
I provide a wide range of different activites and resources, which cover all areas of the Eyfs to meet the needs of each individual child.
I am a creative person who enjoys doing arts and craft activities with the children.
I work closely with parents/carers to be able to provide the best possible care for their child and to meet their individual needs.
My Experience
I previously worked in a daycare setting for 6 years, and I have now been childminding for 9years. I have experience working with children aged 0-5 years, and primary school children.
My Qualifications
I have various childcare qualifications. Including a level 2 and level 3 cache diploma for the children's and young people's workforce. A nvq level 2 qualification in children's care, learning and development.
I have completed paediatric first aid and safeguarding training.
I have also completed training and have certificates for:
~providing opportunities to use home language and English.
~early years phase 1 and 2 phonics- letters and sounds.
~observation and information sharing.
My Availability

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.80 per hour
From £6.80 per hour.
Retainer fee from £3.50 per hour
I am flexible on drop off and collection times.
Fees include snacks, lunch and milk to drink (with the exception of formula milk)
Wipes and sudocrem are provided.
Fees include small outings, group costs etc.
There may be an exception where a contribution may be asked for, to help with costs towards a more expensive outing, such as too whipsnade zoo and similar places depending on the child's age.

Michaela looked after my daughter. Who has multiple allergies well, Michaela has experience with allergies as her son also has some allergies so this really helped.
Michaela has a welcoming approach, so kind and caring offering a home from home environment.
Michaela would send photo updates each day and take the children out to meet up with other childminders and their mindee’s which is great.

Michaela looked after my son from age 1 till 2. He went to her house 4 days a week and loved it. Her setting was always so calm and welcoming. She really supported his development and spent a lot of time doing crafts, outdoor activities and playing. He was very sad when he left but she kept in contact and has seen him a few times since (when covid has allowed!). Michaela was always very flexible and we felt confident he was safe and happy in her home. He still talks about her and her family as he looked up to her elder children like siblings. I was also very jealous of how clean her home always was... not sure how she does it!

Michaela was recommended to me by a previous childminder for after school pick ups. Her setting was always welcoming, clean and lots of things to keep children of all ages busy. My son loved spending the couple of hours after school with her and her children.
We were always kept updated of my son’s progress and any changes Michaela needed.
I would recommend Michaela as a childminder.

Michaela has been our childminder for nearly 3 years and I would highly recommend her to any family. She has provided a nurturing environment where our daughter has thrived. Michaela has offers a flexible and loving environment, she is reliable and always puts the best interests of the children first. The children visit lots of groups and have great days out together. She is a fantastic childminder who we will miss greatly.

Michaela is a wonderful lady. I came into knowing her in January, when i was looking for a childminder for my son who was then 18 months old. Ever since my little boy goes there i have never had any problems. My son is very well looked after. He settled quickly with her and her children. There has never been a day when my son is not excited to go to Michaela. He even runs into her arms and say goodbye to us with no issues.
I strongly recommend Michaela to anyone who is looking for a professional caring flexibly and understanding childminder.
My son will be leaving Michaela at the end of August as he will start going to the nursery in September. I don't know wether it will be myself or my son who will miss her the most.
