About Me
*******Hi, my name is Nicola (Nickie). I am a Forest Childcare Provider and Ofsted registered (Good) childminder living in the Bitterne Park area which is within easy commutable distance to the Southampton hospitals, universities and M27/train stations.
As a mum of two children, I fully understand we all want the best for our children and how hard it can be leaving them at times. I have first-hand experience at realising how important it is to have a caring and reliable childminder that understands the needs of both parent and child.
In my setting, I have a dedicated play room with a wide range of toys and educational resources where children can learn through play. Furthermore, I have a large garden where children can develop and explore with lots of toys and garden equipment for outdoor activities.
As a certified Forest Childcare Provider, children in my care are regularly given the opportunity to spend time in outdoor places by being taken on outings to parks, fields, playgrounds, woodland areas, forests and wild spaces so that they can learn to appreciate the natural environment. I am a firm believer that spending time outdoors has untold benefits for both the children and adults who look after them.
We also have outing 'adventures' to local farms, music and dance groups, libraries etc on a regular basis which incorporates lots of learning and of course FUN!
I am a friendly, open and very approachable person and I try my best to be as flexible as possible with requirements as I understand everyone has individual needs. I provide a safe, warm, homely and stimulating environment for children both indoors and where possible outdoors.

I just asked my 21month old daughter if she loves Nickie ("Niknik") and she said "da" (yes) so there you have it!
Nickie is amazing, she's so gentle and sensitive with little ones when they're struggling (e.g. with separation anxiety). Our girl always has fun at hers. She takes the kids on outdoors adventures and helps to further their development through activities. She uses makaton sign language with the kids, which really helps little ones communicate. She has also been happy to adapt to us using cloth nappies with our girl. I would highly recommend her.

Nickie is amazing, Louisa went to Nickies for 4 years and she loved it there and she would always look forward to going and when she came home she was always happy. As first time parents we wanted someone we could trust and we saw this in Nickie from the first time we met her. Louisa leant alot at Nickies than she did at home, I would highly recommend her. She is an amazing childminder.

It has been a pleasure to have Louisa at my setting, we all will miss her so much, especially her songs and dancing! I am so proud of her now she is starting school, I know she’ll be amazing. Thank you for being such lovely parents to work with, look forward to regular updates and seeing you soon.
