My Experience

I have only been a childminder since October 2015, but I feel like I have learned so much in that time, not only how to be a better childminder, but a friend and parent as well.

In my previous roles, I have had experience of caring for children from different cultural backgrounds and varying educational needs. This is something I strive to include in my setting even today.

With regards to allergies, I like to keep myself informed of any allergies that a child may suffer from and work with parents to ensure that my setting meets their requirements. As I and my son have both suffered from a milk intolerance (he has thankfully grown out of it, whereas I have not) and my husband having an intolerance to red meat, I know how unpleasant even a mild reaction can be.

My Qualifications

University: I have a degree in theology and education studies.

Open university: Introductory Management diploma (relating to educational sector)

Other certificates: Ofsted registered, Full paediatric first aid training, child minding registration. DBS checked.

I am also continually updating my CPD folder which involves optional courses on different aspects of childminding from safeguarding to food hygiene.

My Availability

My usual work hours are 7am-6pm Monday to Friday. I am however able to be flexible around these hours should the need arise.

My Fees

• Childminding from £5.00 per hour

I try to keep my fees as simple as possible.

Hourly rate 7am-6pm: £5 per hour
Out of hours rate: £6 per hour


For a full days care (up to 10 hours) - £35 per day

(Additional outside of these hours normal rates apply)
