About Me
My name is Salacia and I am 21 years old currently studying a foundation degree at Plymouth university. I am very positive and loving with children. Being outgoing and friendly, I am adaptable to family life. I come from a very large family where caring and looking after children has been a way of life. For four years, I have been teaching irish dancing as a part time job, here in Muscat, for children ages 3-14. I have had babysitting jobs and various nanny jobs over the years and have always achieved all round satisfaction. I love being around children and do everything I can to insure they are given the very best of care. I give all my energy and attention to the children and have been told I hold a positive, friendly and calm attitude. I am patient as I am aware this is essential with children of young ages. In addition, I am extremely dedicated and driven, as running my own business as a dance teacher takes a lot of responsibility and drive. Although I currently do not hold any professional childcare qualifications, I am very confident in caring for children and have had an immense amount of experience.
Coming from a large and loving family, I am able to easily adapt into a family life and understand what it takes to be a part of one. My passion is working with children and caring for them and I am very much looking forward to pursue that this summer for a lovely family in England.
My Experience
In February, earlier last year, I went to the south of India for one month, volunteering at a local school and helping out at an orphanage. The program I had signed up with was well organized but left me with independence and an open mind. On arriving, it was up to me to independently plan lessons and teach at my own accord. Teaching four different classes a day, from ages 5-14, was challenging but extremely rewarding and it was an experience that I will treasure throughout my life. Watching the children learn and improve over the time I was there was such a joy to see, and having to motivate them and keep the class focused on a daily basis was enlightening as well as challenging, as it gave me an insight as to what teaching would potentially be like as a career.
For four years, I have been teaching irish dancing as a part time job, here in Muscat, for children ages 3-14. I have had babysitting jobs in England during holidays from 2011-2015, which included feeding the children who were from ages 3-8, putting them to bed and clearing up the kitchen and lounge; basic house hold duties. I have also worked for a family here in Muscat for a month as a nanny. They had triplets, of age 5 and a younger son of age 3. My role was to play with them and keep them occupied after school for four hours. I would help them with homework and prepare supper until their Mother got home from work. In addition, I babysat for a total of ten different families, on weekends and various other days, which involved putting the children to bed and minding them whilst they slept for a number of hours. Other than that, I have always been looking after and caring for my own siblings which are many years younger than me, so child care comes as a very natural role for me.
My Qualifications
I do not hold any professional qualifications but have many years of experience with children and am very confident and loving when caring for them.
I have three A levels, in Sociology, Psychology and Human Biology and

I am very flexible as to what hours are required, and am happy to work full days.
