Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I am an experienced childminder with 9 years of running my own registered setting. Before this, I had the privilege of working as an assistant to a highly experienced childminder with over 13 years in the field. During that time, I gained invaluable hands-on training, became a key worker for several children, and developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create a thriving childcare environment.
As a mother to five wonderful children—aged 27 to 9—I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my role. I live with my husband and our two youngest children in a warm, family-focused home, where every child in my care is nurtured and encouraged to thrive.

My Experience
Before becoming a registered childminder, I worked as an assistant to an established childminder with over 13 years of experience. During this time, I received in-house training tailored to her setting, took on responsibilities as a key worker for some of the children, and gained invaluable first-hand experience in managing a childcare environment.
This role allowed me to learn the ins and outs of providing high-quality care, fostering strong relationships with families, and creating a nurturing space for children to thrive. These experiences laid the foundation for my own journey as a registered childminder, which I have now been successfully running for the past 9 years.
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, which is recognized by our local authority. In September 2021, I proudly achieved a Degree with Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), specializing in children aged 0-5 years.
As an OFSTED-registered and accredited childminder, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of care. I have completed paediatric first aid training, an advanced Level 3 Safeguarding Children course, and a Level 2 Food Hygiene course. I am also fully insured through childcare.co.uk as a Gold member, ensuring peace of mind for the families I work with.

Jen is a kind and wonderful childminder, my daughter had been with Jen for over 3 years now and I wouldn't change her for anything. She's is such a happy and cheerful lady, she always finds time to have a little catch up. I love the fact that Jen is flexible, open to changes and respectful to my wishes as a parent. I'm so thankful for Jen for getting my daughter ready for her school last year. My daughter is so happy and really looks forward to spending time with Jen, Ellie.

Where to start - we have been using Jen since our first little boy was 9 months old and he’s now 4 years old. We now have a second little boy who is 14 months old, and he also attends the setting. Jen and Ellie have been brilliant from the beginning, so friendly, welcoming and nurturing. I struggled to find a childcare setting, that I was truly happy with, but Jen made me feel so comfortable and I knew that my boys were in the best hands.
The boys are both so happy to go to Jen’s, they have a lovely group of friends, eat lovely home cooked meals and have always have lots of fun. My eldest now goes to preschool and she also offers wrap around care which is so helpful and means I can go to work without worrying.
She is so accommodating and flexible, when other childcare settings aren’t. I am so grateful that we found Honeybees, and we will continue to use HoneyBees as long as possible! Highly recommend!

I absolutely love Jen - she’s incredibly nurturing and my son always jumps into her arms when we arrive! Jen knows his unique personality inside out and gives him the opportunity to be himself, which I think is so important in a young, developing child. I love that he also has other children to play with of varying ages - it’s great for his social skills and it’s so cute knowing he has his little friendship group! I would highly recommend - you can count on your child’s happiness, safety and development, not to mention being well fed with lovely fresh food!

We met Jen when I first moved into southbourne over 3 years ago. I was moving my life to Dorset, and my little boy was just about to start reception. We didn't know anyone in the area, and Jen made us feel so welcome! I knew from the first moment we meet she is the person my son will be safe and content with! He is still with Jen and just started junior school! It's home from home and nothing less! Toby loves being there and made so many beautiful friendship! We are ever so greatful for Jen and Ellie!!!
We can't recommend them enough!!!

With the need to going back to work when my little girl was 6months old I found the childcare part very daunting but I felt I hit jackpot when Honeybees was recommended to me! Such a happy, clean, friendly and fun environment with continuous updates of my little girls weekly activities and progress, they certainly made my working-mum journey far more relaxed and stress-free. Now nearly 4 years later my little girl is still there and I wouldn’t have had it any other way - I’m so thankful for Honeybees time and efforts throughout my little girls development and feel she has excelled due to the small setting and one-on-one time she has with the beautiful ladies that run it. Thank you so much for everything you do!

I will forever reccomend Honeybees to anyone who asks! Both my children have been with Jen and Ellie and it’s honestly like a home from home setting. She provide hot home cooked meals and an array of fruit that both kids children’s will only eat with her! She was great with the potty training stage and both Jen and Ellie are so good when the children aren’t feeling too great. I’ve always loved that they will get up and take the kids out for the day when the weather is suitable (sometimes when it’s not!) the fresh air is so good for them and they come home exhausted and sleep so well. It’s the only setting my children have attended when they don’t look back when walking in.

Our little boy has been attending Honeybees for 2 years and my nearly 2 year old daughter has been there since she was around 4 months old. I couldn't rate Jen, Ellie and Adam highly enough. Jen is so motherly, really caring and enthusiastic and my children adore her. They have both learned so much during their time with her and I feel so lucky to have secured their places with her. We even factored in the ability for her to do wraparound care when applying for schools for the older one!
She makes amazing home cooked meals for all the children and has been marvellous with things like potty training and feeding issues. My daughter won't even take a bottle from anyone but her! We'll continue having our children at her setting for as long as we can, they'll probably be there until they are teenagers!! It feels like they are looked after by family, in fact her care is better than if we left them with our family!

I have been with Jen at Southbourne Honeybees for 10 years. Both my children have been here and I couldn’t recommend them enough. In a beautiful home is such a loving and caring environment and I honestly couldn’t fault anything I’ve experienced in 10 years.

After returning to work part time when our daughter was 8 months old I had to make sure I found a safe & loving family for her to go to. Honeybees is all of that and more. Jen, Adam & Elle have really made a difficult decision that much easier knowing my daughter is well looked after. In a year and a half of going there has never been any hesitation from the little one at the door. She is always happy to see Elle and Jen and the feeling seems genuinely mutual. We get regular updates on what they get up to and a variety of arts and crafts adorn our walls as a result of their hard work. I cannot recommend them enough.

My daughter has been attending Southbourne Honey Bees for almost 3 years and she loves it! It's a kind, warm and inviting environment and I wouldn't have her go anywhere else! It's fantastic!
