My Summary
About Me
My name is Louise. I live in Broughty Ferry beside the castle. I have a 2 bedroom house and a sun lounge/play room where the children have indoor activities throughout the day. I am a single mum and I live here with my 12 year old son.
I offer 2 snacks throughout the day and a cooked or packed meal at lunch time to save you packing a lunch for your child. I also pay for all play groups, outings and clubs.
We make use of the local community. Broughty Ferry Library, the beach, all local parks, the life boat shed, the railway station and of course the castle.
I'm willing to take part time children and don’t charge a retainer fee for teachers with term-time contracts. I don't charge for holidays.
I am also available as a wedding childminder:
Face painting.
Silent disco.
Movie wig wam village.
Toys.
Arts and crafts.
Dressing up.
My Experience
I have experience and qualifications in dealing with Autism and ADHD.
No matter which age or stage your child is at, I will assess them with my starting points and add next steps to their Individual Learning Journey as needed.
I use the Baby's Days software which allows you to gain access to photos, activities and daily diaries in accordance with your child's development.
Please remember to take primary school catchment areas into consideration when looking for a childminder. Your baby will form a bond with your childminder as having to change childminders before the early school years is not in the best interest of the child.

- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£6.50 per hour. This includes all food, drink and outings. I do ask that you provide nappies and wet wipes.

I wish I could put into words what it means to us to have Louise care for our daughter. But I'll try..
We had a difficult beginning when seeking childcare, initially opting for a private nursery in which my daughter was clearly very overwhelmed with and the setting did not suit. E had never been with anyone else ( Covid /lockdowns) and as a result she had real seperation anxiety.
Immediately when we met Louise for the initial visit I felt so much more at ease, the sun lounge/play room is a gorgeous calm and welcoming space and the rest of Louise's home is beautiful - my daughter loves her garden!
It took some time for E to settle, Louise was so supportive and really helped my daughter and us as parents through this time. I felt respected in the way we wished to settle her in (we agreed a plan of increasing so many hours each day and this worked really well) and this partnership continued throughout. Louise always kept us updated on how E was doing and would ask us how she could best support E and how we felt she was settling in.
Once E was settled she absolutely thrived and is always happy to go to ' Lou Lou's'. Louise is very gentle and respectful in her approach to caring for children as well as being a great laugh and genuinely fun! My daughter absolutely loves Louise's son and they really make her feel part of the family.
E has come on leaps and bounds developmentally. For me it was always a priority that she felt safe, cared for and happy. In Louise doing this for E she is so much more confident and resilient.

Going back to work and leaving my wee boy (age 11 months) filled me with dread but Louise made this whole process so much easier. Now my son is 2 and has built up such a close bond with Louise, sometimes it’s a struggle to get him to leave at the end of the day! We know we can trust her to keep him safe and we really appreciate the communication and photos which keep us updated throughout the day. He clearly has a great time at Broughty Babies and is exposed to lots of different experiences and learning activities. Our son is also very fond of Louise’s 7 year old son - he likes to talks about them both fulla lot at home.
I am so thankful that we found such a reliable, caring and genuine childminder.

We have used Louise(Lou Lou ) of broughty babies for the best part of 4 years.we found her very trustworthy,reliable polite with a great sense of humour everything you could ask for,she was always taking the boys out on day trips which the boys couldn’t wait to tell us about at night.would also get daily pics and updated about what was for lunch etc
Louise wasn’t just a childminder to us she was a friend,which made it all the harder to leave but buying our first house forced the issue.
Louise would go out her way for the boys and for that we will be forever grateful.

Louise has been our child's child minder for 2 1/2 years. Are child also goes to nursery but felt the bond she has with Louise has helped her transition from home to care. She is attentive, patient, and reinforces behavioural boundaries in a positive way. We feel our child is more emotionally secure and has developed so well in various areas of her learning due to Louise's influence. We highly recommend her.

Louise has been our childminder since August 2015 when I returned to work full time. Our oldest wee boy had just turned 1 and instantly we felt like we had made the right choice. Now nearly 4 years later she looks after our 2 year old 3 full days a week and our 4 year old before and after nursery. She always keeps us well informed through out the day with snacks, lunch, activities and also sends us photos and videos which I think is a lovely touch. I really couldn’t have asked for a better childminder which makes me sad to be leaving Broughty Ferry! My boys are going to miss “Lou Lou” so much, she has been such a big part of their lives over the years! We will definitely be keeping in touch :)
