About Me
My name is Dominika, and after almost 20 years in childcare as a
nanny, I am starting my journey as a childminder. I believe all
children deserve the best possible care, and the first 5 years of a
child's life set them off for life. I provide home-from-home warm and gentle
care for children with set boundaries. From a very early age, I teach
children about emotions and naming them. Learning to name the
feelings helps children later on be more emotionally balanced.
I provide a small setting with only a few children so I can truly
focus on the child. Spending lots of time outdoors in different
nearby parks, libraries and playgroups to allow children to socialise.
I truly believe in homemade cooking and a ''Setter division of
responsibility''. This means I will provide the food, but the child
has a choice of what they eat and how much they eat. This removes the
pressure from mealtimes and builds a long-term positive relationship
with food. I prefer to use organic meat when possible. Making
sourdough bread and focaccia weekly, I use real plates for children
and, when possible, within the Montessori philosophy.
People find me responsible, caring, and cheerful. I have almost 20 years of
experience in childcare and an up-to-date DBS and child care
qualification CACHE Level 3, Montessori in the home certificate, and
Paediatric First Aid. I am also Ofstead registered.
I am also an incredibly lucky mum of one child who attends The New School.
My setting is open from Monday-Thursday from 8.00-18.00
Friday from 8.00-14.30 pm

My Experience
I have extensive experience with infants and toddlers and enjoy caring
for them as they grow and develop their individual personalities. I
enjoy taking them outside for walks and exploring nature, as well as
taking them to classes and engaging them in fun activities like making
homemade playdough and cooking, arts and crafts. I am committed to promoting
child development and believe in treating all children with respect
and equality, regardless of their age.
