I first met Katie in the local area and at baby groups as our daughters were born within a few days of each other. I’m a foster carer for two older children and have to go to meetings and on courses fairly regularly, meaning I need childcare for my daughter. Although I have family who were happy to help, my daughter often wouldn’t settle with them very well as a baby and it was upsetting to hear she’d been upset while I was away. So I thought I would use Katie’s childminding service one day to see how my daughter got on there. She had a brilliant day! Went in no problem, wasn’t upset when I left, had loads of fun all day and was happy to see me again - but would have stayed to play longer if I’d let her! Now if I need someone to look after my daughter, who’s now 19 months old, I always ask Katie first. My daughter has gone there lots of times now and never once cried going in and is always happy to see Katie and Alice. The range of activities is great, Katie always uploads lots of photos so you can see that your child is having a good time, and the children are genuinely happy there. Katie is very loving towards the children and provides a real home from home experience for them. I highly recommend her as a childminder.
My 18 month old daughter has been going to Katie for just over 6 months now and absolutely loves her! After an initial meeting with Katie and chat about how she ran her business my husband and I felt we had found someone we could trust and after just a few settling in sessions my daughter was happy with Katie. It was such a relief as we are first time parents.
The range of activities Katie provides is fab, from messy play, arts and crafts, singing songs, reading books, role play etc to taking my daughter to the park, museum and various toddler groups.
My daughter's confidence around other children and in herself has grown so much. Her development is also coming along great and she is so excited to go to Katie's on the days we require care.
Katie's drive, motivation, attention to detail and caring nature are second to none. She is just fantastic, so much so I am looking to put my unborn baby (im currently 9 months pregnant) in her care when I return to work.
My husband and I feel we are very lucky to have found such a wonderful person to look after our daughter. I would highly recommend Katie to any parent requiring child care.
My daughter had now been with Katie for a year and I am still COMPLETELY satisfied with the childcare provided. Katie is incredibly professional, keeping me up to date with anything that may even slightly affect my daughter. My daughter is always so excited to arrive at her house, where she is always entertained, stimulated, challenged and loved. I cannot rate Katie highly enough. Her little boy is also a lovely little lad who enjoys 'looking after' my daughter and is very caring and friendly with her. I intend to keep my daughter with Katie for as long as possible. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Katie looked after our baby boy for a few months from about 8 months old. Immediately we all felt at home in her house. I felt very confident leaving him with her. It was warm, inviting, and a very creative space for the babies and children to learn and explore without being overwhelmed or overlooked.
He loved going out in the pram to the different activity days katie had organised at the library or play groups. She would update us regularly with photos so we could see what he was up to - it always looked fun!!!
She was very thoughtful making cards and gifts for special occasions like mothers day and birthdays. Very sweet. And she kept a learning journal for him with personal photos of any new experiences he encountered, and things that he loved to play with or explore each day.
I would recommend her services to anyone - babies and toddlers were happy chappies in her company! thanks for everything Katie!
After lots of messages back and forth over a number of days, both myself and Katie where happy with the discussed hours. Then nearly a full afternoon in her home we discussed this further, she was very friendly and couldn't wait to start looking after my son. I then went home and trawled through the copious amounts of paperwork to be read and signed. I dropped my son off on his 1st day with one months payment in cash( feeling relieved id found someone i could trust) only to receive a text ( not even a phone call) the next day explaining that someone else had asked her to take there children for more hours and although she'd accepted to take my son and entered in to a contract felt that it would be too much to have Corey now! Thanks for that, not only have you totally wasted my time and disappointed a little boy! You have behaved extremely unprofessionally.

Response by Katie on 16/06/2013:
Full afternoon in my house = 30 minutes, child wasn't present.
Month payment = 2 weeks payment and 1 week getting returned.
The other parent = had both children for 1 year so my priorities are with that parent.
Yes it was probably my fault as I should of definitely had a pre visit normally only do this with younger children and I felt there was not enough space for all children as I haven't got the outdoor space, I'm annoyed with my self but I certainly didn't want the boy to get attached to me then say it later on.
I then messaged other childminders in the area for vacancies.
