My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted registered child-minder (since 1996) with an outstanding rating, I live in the coronation area of Acklam Middlesbrough with my Husband and 2 adult children. We also have a lovely small French bulldog who joined us in June 2020.
I have plenty of indoor and outdoor play equipment for the Children to play and learn with. We often partake in creative play ie: gluing, play dough, painting, colouring and baking.
I have an extended and well equipped play room with a good selection of fun and educational toys. The playroom is large and brightly decorated with the children craft work and educational resources.
I have a large enclosed garden with a variety of equipment including messy kitchen, climbing frame, play houses, water and sand play, mark making area plus lots of toys that promote communication and language, personal, social and emotional plus physical play. .
Books are available to browse through and a story is a good way to wind down before a nap.
We visit toddler groups on a daily basis during term time and have regular trips out to local parks, museums, farms, soft play and the local library. In addition to this we make educational visits to our local police, fire service, RNLI (coast guard) and I encourage educational visits from professionals working in and around our community.
I have an Ofsted registered assistant who can offer support to both me and the children. who is DBS checked and holds a paediatric first aid and safeguarding qualification.
My Experience
I have been a Registered Childminder with Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland Social Services since June 1996. In July 2001 Ofsted took over childminder’s inspections and I have been working towards providing a service in accordance with the Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
My Qualifications
I gave gained a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Early Year’s Childcare and Education, Safeguarding and Paediatric first aid.
And have completed many workshops and training courses over the years for example:

I am registered for the 15hrs free childcare for achieving 2year olds and the Nursery Education Grant for 3-4years olds with Middlesbrough Borough Council.

From the moment I walked into Denise’s house I knew that she was the person to look after my little one! Being quite a neurotic mother, this was a big thing!
Denise’s family became my little one’s extended family in no time. Being a full time working mum, Denise did all of the things I wasn’t able to during the day - from song groups to bouncy castles to toddlers and outdoor activities.
Denise made my daughter feel settled and safe and looked after her like her own.
Activities were great as was communication on a daily basis.
My daughter had her dinner round the table with the rest of the children and played all day long.
During the height of the pandemic Denise remained open so that I could work. Without her, I would not have been able to do this. Everything was so organised and safe. I knew my daughter was in the best hands.
My daughter came on leaps and bounds in her time with Devise, socially, emotionally and educationally. Good routines, boundaries and rules in place.
My daughter still loves to see Denise and her family whenever she can ❤️

Denise has provided a wonderful, caring and safe environment for my daughter to develop into a confident little girl. She was very shy when she first started with Denise but has come on leaps and bounds. My daughter is now able to have conversations with her peers and joins in all the activities provided. She loves playing in the garden and making arts and crafts within the child care setting.

I have used Denise for over 7 years - as a working mum all three of my children have been placed with Denise from the age of 6 months. The eldest is now nearly 8 and still adores going to Denises after school or during the school holidays - as does my 5 year old. The youngest is still there full time and loves it too!
I have no hesitation in recommending Denise as a childminder and know that my children are well looked after, happy and content whilst there!

I have known Denise for approx 12years. First as a childcare student. Since having my own children I knew there was no where else I would want to send them when I returned to work. I currently work three days a week a both my children (aged 1 & 2) are with Denise all day from 8 till 5. They love going and are always happy for me to leave! Denise is always happy to help and be accommodating as and where she can. I know my children are safe and happy while I'm at work which makes my day easier, I rarely check in with Denise as I know if there was ever a problem she would be contacting me.
