A wonderful nanny

As a first time mum with no family or support system close, I was hoping to find a warm, empathetic, friendly, caring, approachable and experienced nanny to look after our baby daughter once a week.

I found that and so much more with Julie. I felt an immediate rapport with her, she's a very caring and thoughtful person who not only looked after our daughter but who also supported me during some difficult times during early motherhood.

She's fun, thoughtful, kind, very creative, and very pro-active, loves to get stuck in, and has a vast amount of knowledge and experience from looking after a large brood of her own that she was always willing to share with me in a really supportive way; I found this invaluable.

Julie is a wonderful listener, and brings a really personal approach to her work. If I happened to mention something I was struggling with or hoping to action, toys to source for our daughter or aspects of parenting she would often help to find solutions for me, often in her own time, to share with us.

If our daughter was napping she would immediately find tasks to support with around the house, often finding inventive solutions to issues we didn't have time to deal with. She really helped take the pressure off and helped make life feel easier and in very discreet ways.

Weaning was a phase that I found challenging, especially when our daughter was diagnosed with a food allergy, Julie was incredibly supportive practically and emotionally during this time.

Our daughter loved her time with Julie, you could see this in person and the relationship they developed with eachother; and from the many photos Julie would share with me while I was out of the house.

It is really evident how much Julie cares about the children she looks after, how much she thinks of them while not with them, and how much attention she pays to the unique little person they are becoming, with their own individual needs and ways of being. And, the importance that's placed on also supporting the mother. She would often check in with me, on the days we wouldn't see eachother.

It's also clear how much she cares about her family and what a community- minded person she is, I've learnt a lot from her. She's a person that opens your eyes up to the world in new and meaningful ways and I'm really glad she's become a part of ours.

The perfect summer help

We found Julie via this website to babysit my two young boys when I come back to stay with my parents for weddings/ weekends.
She has been fantastic, she fitted in straight away not only with me and my boys but also with my parents and their house (who are probably harder to please ). My boys loved her, she found tasks to do around the house and when one of my boys was under the weather she sat up all night with him rather than rush me home. She was always early, kept me updated and when I got one of my dates wrong but she went out of her way to still make it work. She was a real find for us this summer and I am sad to see her leave. Whoever she helps next will be very lucky.

Practically Perfect ...

We have really enjoyed having Julie as our Nanny. She is excellent with the children, is a godsend around the house and is a genuine pleasure to have around. We will miss her greatly when she leaves us to move closer to family. I could not recommend her more highly to anyone who is looking for help with childcare.

wedding in Sherborne

Julie was the first babysitter we got for our four month old while we were at a wedding in Sherborne. We were nervous about leaving him for the first time. Julie was brilliant and put us at ease instantly. She sent us photos so we could see he was doing just fine and was laughing away. Julie needed no direction and was able to give our baby numerous bottles, play with him, bath him and get him off to sleep with no issues. We would love to have Julie babysit our boy again.

A kind and caring Nanny

Julie has been a part of our family since 2017, we found her through this website. She has helped with looking after our 3 children. After having my third baby, Julie came to help me as a mothers help. Three words describe her, love, enthusiasm and energy. She connects with the children, can bake, cook, do crafts with them, play games and at the same time reorganize your home. Multi tasking on another level!!
For us, it was important to have someone who had years of experience raising their own children and who we felt we can completely trust.
I went back to working part time and she has helped raise my youngest son, at the same time is our only go to person for baby sitting and school pick drop offs/pick ups.
She is timely, dedicated and trust worthy. I have complete faith in her when she is with our children. My kids love Julie and so do I!!! You would be a very lucky family to have her as part of your family.

It’s like your mum & Marie Kondo over!

We got in touch with Julie for some babysitting initially. The kids absolutely loved her and we kept getting her back.

Upon getting to know Julie, who is such a fun energetic person, though we realised she was a woman of many talents. Not only could she whip the kids into shape with a lot of laughter along the way, she also has a rare talent for reorganising and de cluttering.

It’s like having Marie Kondo come visit. If you fancy clearing out your cupboards, sorting the kids rooms or attacking a big project Julie is absolutely magic. She’s been helping me clear the house, adding things to eBay, all sorts really. She’s efficient, flexible, fun, full of ideas for the kids and incredibly patient. Couldn’t recommend her more.

Keep telling her she needs to charge double!

SuperNanny

Julie has helped me with my two boys for 5 years on and off. She is an incredible all rounder and has seemingly unending energy. She does so much with the children to keep them physically, mentally and educationally active. The children love her as do I, she is a joy to have around and so experienced in all areas of child raising and life. From cooking and baking, to drawing and making, she’s always got something going on with the children. If cuddle time and a story or movie are required, or a nature trail in the garden or trip to the park, Julie always knows whet’s needed and delivers. She has a wealth of experience with newborns and also worked with Special Educational Needs and Autistic children.
Being an experienced Mum she gets on with basic housework along the way, she just gets on with it. She’s honest and hardworking, with genuine love for children and a fantastic way with children of all ages.
Without question the best childminder/Nanny I have had and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
