About Me
My name is Jane King, I am a registered childminder running benny bears from my home. I am a mother of 3 and live in the village of Knebworth.
I live within walking distance of the local schools, playgroups and pre-schools and both local parks.
I collect and drop off children in Knebworth, Woolmer green and surrounding areas.
I have held a clean driving licence for 27 years and have a fully business insured vehicle for the sole use of benny bears.
Most importantly I have raised three children and often care for my 5 year old granddaughter, I spent 7 years working in schools across Hertfordshire as a assistant catering manager, my daily interaction with the children encouraged me to become a voluntary teaching assistant at apple croft primary school in WGC. During my time working in both key stages and nursery I passed a higher learning teaching assistants course with the support of the school.
I then decided to become a registered childminder providing a safe caring fun environment where children can play, learn and enjoy their early years, I feel my natural instinct as a mother and my commitment to keeping children safe and well cared for along with my skills to help them with development and learning I can provide a safe happy environment where they can grow, learn and most importantly be happy and secure.
all children are welcome in my home which is welcoming and child-friendly, my setting is equipped with age appropriate toys to cover all age groups. I offer the children a wide range of activities for play and learning that are inline with the EYFS guidelines.
My Experience
after several years working in a school environment in all key stages, I have used that experience to now work in my own setting and have gained new skills now I look after such a wide range of age groups from newborn to year 6. I learn something new everyday from the 13 children that attend my setting which is always adding to my experience.

My Availability
Benny Bears is open Monday -Friday 7.30am - 6.00pm i understand many work commitments are very variable and will always be as flexible as i can to help parents meet these commitments.
I offer full time and part time contracts along with term time and all year round contracts.
I also have a fully qualified full time assistant who works within my setting.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
My fee is £5 per hour which includes snacks/drinks.
I Provide home cooked meals at the cost of:
Breakfast £1.50
Lunch £1.50
Dinner £2.00
All meal times include fresh fruit and bread, I cater for all dietary requirements.
(I offer a 10% discount for siblings)
I also accept payment by childcare vouchers.

Jane has looked after my daughter since she was 4 months old. She has always provided a safe fun place for her play and grow. As a first time mum she's also been an excellent support to me giving guidance on my daughters milestones like potty training (which she bet her personal best and wrapped up in 2-3 days with our daughter). She has been very flexible with us around our work commitments and we have always had peace of mind knowing that our DD was safe, sound and happy.
Everyone at Benny Bears has the patience of saints and clearly enjoy their jobs and spending time with the children. The kids eat good healthy snacks and have lots of play and adventures in the village.
I hold Benny Bears in the highest regard.
