About us
Karen -
I have been a passionate childcare provider since 1985 and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Prior to that I worked in nursery but set up as a child minder when I started a family of my own. I have dedicated my home to child minding and have offered an impeccable service to many families for 36 years.
Carly -
I have had a passion for education from a young age and I have worked with children for 11 years. I started out in a pre-school nursery and then moved on to work with Karen as her assistant. I registered as a child minder in 2016. I have two children of my own and have extensive experience with special needs. I am currently completing a BA (hons) degree in childhood and youth studies and I finished my first year of university in May 2021.
Our setting
Our setting is a nurturing and friendly environment that promotes early years education, a wealth of exciting but educational experiences and secure attachments from which a child can thrive and grow. We pride ourselves on positive relationships with the families we serve.
We are regulated by Ofsted, First Aid trained and fully insured with Pacey. We follow the EYFS in the same way as a Nursery and provide the same care. We offer a small group setting (3 children per adult) which allows us to really understand each and every child that attends our setting.
All parents are updated on their child's day on a daily basis and we aim to send photographs home at the end of each session so parents can see what their child has enjoyed that day.
Working in partnership with parents is heavily promoted and we actively encourage parents to provide feedback or comment on their child's daily updates, share experiences their child has had outside of the setting, or share information such as their child's favourite book. They can even send the book in for us to share as a group! We love to hear from parents and ensure that they are involved in their child's care and education.

Karen and Carly have been looking after our son since he was 8 months old, and it’s amazing to see how much he’s developed socially and with his vocabulary and communication in that time. He’s always excited and happy to arrive and play, and we receive detailed updates about his care and progression. Every day, the children have a nutritious, home cooked lunch together, sing, play and do an extensive range of creative activities. Karen and Carly have been absolute lifesavers for us, as our son is so happy and settled in their care that we have no worries working full time, as we know he’s in the best two pairs of hands and a truly nurturing environment. We would definitely recommend this childcare provider to anyone looking for a home from home setting for their baby or child.

Carly looked after my now 3yr old son for a little over a year and she has done an amazing job with him and we will forever miss her, my son has now moved on to join his sister at school otherwise I would still have him there. I would recommend her to everyone because if it was not for Carly I would be seriously stressing everyday. She was very supportive when I needed care for my son and he came home and surprised me every day with how much he had learnt and the things they had done. Very nice area for the children and always felt that Jose' was safe. I would receive updates from Carly regularly which I really like. Thank you.

We have known Carly for the last couple of years while she has worked as an assistant to our childminder. She is very warm and caring and our two boys age 6 & 4 both just love her! She has always been reliable, professional and friendly.

Carly has looked after my two children (aged 22 months and 4) as an assistant at our childminder setting for the past 12 months. Carly is very popular with the children and I can see that she has fantastic capability and experience in caring for children and helping them to develop practical, interpersonal and language/numeracy skills. When our childminder was unexpectedly sick for a week, Carly looked after my children independently at her own setting and I was confident that they were well looked after.
