My Summary
About Me
**Professional Profile: Nanny/Maternity Practitioner**
After dedicating the past 3.5 years as a Personal Assistant and Nanny for a family during a challenging time of bereavement, I am preparing for a transition as the family has recently relocated. Initially, my role was intended for six months, but I embraced the opportunity to provide comprehensive support to the family during their time of need.
As I take a well-deserved break, I am exploring short-term work opportunities where I can continue to make a positive impact on individual families. I am specifically looking for positions that do not require long-term commitments, as I thrive on creating meaningful connections and providing tailored support during pivotal moments.
If you are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to assist your family, please feel free to reach out. I am eager to explore how I can contribute to your unique needs during this transitional phase.
Here is more about me.
I am a highly experienced childcare expert with over 40 years in the field. As a mother of four grown children and an adopted son who is now 16, I bring a wealth of personal and professional experience to my role. Additionally, I have fostered children for 20 years, enriching my understanding of diverse family dynamics.
I also offer short term, ad hoc, last-minute emergency childcare services. Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can assist you.
I am more than willing to step in and provide support while you search for a long-term nanny, especially if you need to return to work sooner than anticipated.
As a qualified maternity practitioner, I am dedicated to supporting families with newborns. I completed my Level 3 Maternity Nanny Course at Reading University 25 years ago, which was the highest qualification available at the time. I have since advanced my qualifications with a Level 5 Maternity Practitioner Course.
My expertise involves various roles, including Maternity Nanny , Newborn Nanny, Adoption Support, Special Needs Care, overnight stays for newborn twins, and proxy parenting if you are away or have an emergency to deal with. I have extensive experience with children across all age groups.
I am available to care for your newborn as a very young baby until they are ready for nursery placement or a permanent nanny. My background as a registered foster parent has involved continuous assessments and ongoing professional development.
I offer flexible availability, working during the day or overnight at short notice for one-off ad hoc positions. I took on a temporary job as a maternity nanny for a 6-week-old baby while the mother worked, I ended up working for the family for 6 months as we all worked so well together and I didn’t want the little baby to have to get used to someone else for a short period as they were moving back to London.
My specialised areas include adoption placements , newborn care, twins, attachment disorders, and behavioral support. My fees are negotiable based on hours and overnight stays.
With my maturity and life experiences, I approach childcare with a common-sense perspective. I am a warm, loving, and nurturing individual, known for being easy-going, fun, and confident in various situations. Additionally, my training as a counsellor enhances my ability to support families effectively.
I pride myself on being friendly, honest, and reliable while maintaining confidentiality. Residing in South Manchester, I am adaptable and often available at short notice, especially when unexpected childcare needs arise due to illness or other circumstances.
As a proxy parent, I take great joy in caring for your children, ensuring they have a fun and engaging experience while you are away.
Please feel free to call me, and I will do my utmost to assist you. I can provide excellent references upon request. Additionally, I am an animal lover and am happy to help with pet care as well.
I have a completely clean driving licence of over 40yrs .

I am hospital training for tracheotomies , nasal feeding tube and PEG feeding
I have been a foster parent for the 15 yrs and now have adopted my son so no longer foster.

Siobhan came to our rescue when we needed childcare for our two children while I went to hospital appointments & extra monitoring when I was pregnant with 3rd baby. Siobhan came to visit the children, to meet us and to show us her ID before I left the children in her care.
Siobhan very quickly built a lovely relationship with the children, and she helped to keep them occupied and happy at a time that could have been very unsettling, with lockdown starting, schools closing and a new baby. Siobhan arrived on the first session with activity packs/colouring books she had prepared for the children (aged 2 and 5), and a few games to play together, which were an enormous hit and very age/character appropriate. My daughter really enjoyed doing craft with her, and my son who is usually reluctant to be left with anyone actually cried when Siobhan had to go home!
Siobhan went above and beyond to help us out. She even had her phone on standby for us and arrived at our house at 6am on the day the baby was born, and looked after the children until grandparents arrived.
