My Requirements

PA/Nanny/Carer required for a 11 year old autistic boy. Currently non speaking, our son has just started his home learning programme incorporating play therapy. He loves to be out in nature doing long walks and paddling in streams. He communicates through visuals and makaton.

He is cheeky and lively with an infectious smile and loves interacting with trusted adults.

We are looking for a reliable and dedicated person who is proactive and can play with/entertain our son along with supporting him with his daily care needs. The job will involve working 1:1 with our son using play therapy, for which we will provide training, along with other activities such as art, baking, water play and walks. We would love someone who is able to proactively come up with activity ideas to interest and entertain him.

Supporting him with his personal care including nappy changes, toileting, washing, dressing etc will be required.

You will need to be energetic and fit as he is a very active boy and taking him for walks in our hilly local area may be part of the job.

You will need proactive safeguarding awareness to ensure his safety at home and out and about.

SEN/autism experience essential. This position will require a DBS check, which we can arrange, and a first aid certificate would be beneficial.

We are looking for someone to work ideally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 3-5pm, Thursday 3pm-7pm. And a saturday 9-1/9-5pm. Extra hours may be available in school holidays. Ability to babysit on occasion with possible overnight stay (rarely) would be welcome to provide parents much needed respite and time together. To start asap.
